Hundreds of pages of reading per session. There are a lot of valuable discussions to be had about how to represented the Holocaust (subject of the course), but I feel like those weren't often the discussions we had. A lot of PC quibbling. Good guy, decent prof as a teacher, but subject matter wise, you either love it or you don't see the point.

He is an amazing professor, one of the best ones I have ever had easily. He is really approachable and you can walk into his office anytime and he tries his best to help you. If you want to learn about anything German, he is your guy. I was having troubles at the start of college life and he really helped me out. 10/10 would take his class again.

I had him for a 300 level class. He definitely knew the subject matter really well, and lectures were usually interesting. He didn't place as much of an emphasis on improving conversational skills as he did reading comprehension. Expect to do a lot of difficult readings and some longer essays, but overall a fairly easy grader.

His class was focused on reading (and writing about) German short stories, which was pretty cool. He wasn't too hung up on grammar at this level, which I appreciated at the time, but looking back, I wish he'd made us work a little harder get all those rules down. He's a nice guy, and willing to help if you ask him. Otherwise he'll leave you alone.

He is a really nice guy and very clear. He knows his stuff and was very helpful. The class was focused on reading comprehension and speaking ability rather than writing and grammatical mastery, which I thought was ok. The readings were at our level, which I was very happy about. I think my german improved that semester.

Prof. Reynolds was a great Tutorial professor; easygoing but not a pushover. He assigned interesting readings and brought in tons of outside information. As an adviser, I couldn't ask for better; he fights for his students. I wish I was a German major so I could keep him.

He's knowledgeable, but not very bright. You can tell he's basically lazy. He pretends he's nice, and sometimes he is, but in someways he's just pretending because sometimes he comes out with these nasty little comments about other people. His classes are boring (I've had to take two.) And he can be a pompous a** about how much he knows.

Dan is inspiring, helpful, friendly, genuine, concerned, interesting, interested,... I can't come up with enough words for how nice this man is. He was my prof for 2 lit classes and the senior seminar, and was my advisor. He's very good at leading class discussions, and is obviously really into his subject, plus he's really there for students.

Discussions were interesting, on topic, and well-guided. He is very knowledgeable and provides interesting relevant background information. Grading and expectations were clear and assignments were helpful. Also very friendly and cares about his students. One of the classes I actually looked forward to, even though it was at 9AM.

Perhaps he's okay in a class more in his subject area, but as a tutorial advisor, he sucked. Very unhelpful to a 1st year trying to sort out an unfamiliar college system--and seems cold/uncomfortable when meeting w/ students, too. Plus, went on leave and didn't tell his advisees when/how to find new advisors = had to find at registration =****TY.

Decent grader, good at directing discussions (in a language most of us weren't quite comfortable in). Makes an effort to be available outside of class - very helpful. Also genuinely interested in students.
