One piece of advice: TAKE MICRO AT A COMMUNITY COLLEGE!!! Dara is disrespectful, is inconsistent with exams that don't make sense. She will attempt to make her questions difficult with wordy confusing questions. Her labs are stressful and she is rude during them. Her lab quizzes are basically impossible. Try to get notes from upper classmen.

Dara has high expectations from her students, but you come out of the class learning a lot of practical, useful skills. Is there a lot of challenging work? Absolutely. But all of the expectations are made clear from the first day of class, so if you can't handle 2 labs a week and reading outside of class, consider another major.

She has a nice personality, but has a very poor teaching style. Her course content is very poor and she expects her students to learn from rote memorization. Overall I do not recommend Dara as an instructor, but she is a very nice person.

This was the worst class I've ever had. She is not only an awful person who I don't respect, but also nothing made sense and I never understood what she expected. We read this book by this guy Kida that was seriously so god awful and it didn't apply to the course. I learned nothing from her. I wish I never took this class.

She will half-teach the material and then expect you to figure the rest out yourself. Classes have no structure and are rarely helpful. She goes on long often unrelated tangents about her personal life on a regular basis. The textbook teaches you more than she ever will.

She is possibly the nicest professor you'll ever meet, but her teaching model emphasizes "active learning" where there is very little lecture and a lot of student led discussion. In a subject which is primarily biological processes-her method is ineffective and the take-home message is often lost in her sometimes unrelated tirades.

Easily one of my favorite professors at Augie. I had her for both Cell and Micro biology. She's a great teacher. Be prepared to study hard because the classes are challenging, but you learn A LOT. Love you, Dara!

She's awesome. You dont have to do lab reports b/c theyre oral and you only have to do 2 of them throughout the entire term. She wrote me recommendation letters for research positions, and even after the class ended she helped me get a summer job in PH. If you work hard you'll get an A.

She doesn't TEACH. She would stand there and talk about how she did horrible in undergrad, but then did amazing in grad school. She talked like she'd be the best teacher we'd ever have. Truthfully I learned more from the book than I did from her in class.

She has a unique way of teaching that really helps you understand the material. She makes everything seem pretty simple in class, but when it comes to test time, don't expect to see all the fun phrases etc she uses. The test are HARD. you actually have to study. But take her classes!

I found her to be challenging but she is very helpful but her tests are kinda hard so don't take them lightly. but you learn a lot from her so I highly recommend her.
