If you take good notes and attend all lectures, there is no reason why you shouldn't do well. Lectures are long but very interesting. No homework, only grades are over 3 exams. I got over 100% on all three because I took detailed notes and went to every class. I would take his class again

His grades are not done on a scale, he seems to be very subjective in his grading. He also tends to ramble. I would not take him again.

Dr. Baxter is extremely informative. Class is not 'mandatory' but all grades are based purely on class notes so I would not recommend skipping. Make a friend to borrow notes from just in case you can't make it in. You are only graded on 3 tests and almost everything in notes are on tests so you have to study and take good notes to do well.

Professor Baxter is very kind and you can tell he really enjoys what he teaches. He does not use a textbook and all of the exam material comes from class notes, so you you need to be there for every lecture and take thorough notes to get a good grade. Lecture would sometimes get boring, but overall he knows how to keep it interesting.

Dave was an amazing teacher I learned more from his class than any other class I have taken. He is extremely hard though. Only grades were 3tests but he is fair and dont ever miss class EVER. Amazing entertaining lectures

You will only be graded on 3 exams and if you're not good at taking test I would suggest another professor. If you do not show up to class you will not pass. His exams can be tricky. If you are not good at fill in the blanks I would not recommend this class because the last half of the exam is fill in the blank.

The content is fairly interesting, but the only grading in that class is over three tests and that is it. I think this is absolutely ridiculous, especially since this makes the class nearly impossible for those who do not test well. It's very unfortunate.

Hes' a great teacher. Most student just don't want to work for their grade. YOU WILL NOT PASS IF YOU DON'T GO TO CLASS. The exams are note based, but he literally tells you everything that will be on the test. If you study your notes, you'll pass the class. He's really passionate about the subject. Lecture is long BUT very interesting!

Dave is one of my all time favorite professors at WS. He is also my adviser. No matter what course you take with him, he's always willing to help and make sure you understand what he is presenting. Both courses that I took of his he had three exams and those were the only things you were graded on. Come to class, take good notes, you will be fine.

I took Dave's COM1520 course my first semester in college and I loved it! The course is lecture heavy and a total of 3 exams make up your entire course grade which means no homework. The tests are strictly made up from the notes you'll take in class so attendance is important! He's a very straightforward professor and very nice and understanding.

he's a cool guy (i'd grab a beer with him). his lectures are long and sometimes boring. on his tests, you can write everything he wants and you'll get the answers wrong. if he's the only professor for a specific class, you're out of luck.

Professor Baxter is cool. His lectures are easy, although content heavy and I don't know why people don't like his class. He is more than willing to take accommodations into account if you're with ODS. However I'm not a fan of the notes not being online. It's basically mandatory to go to class, if you don't you're screwed.

He's an interesting professor, but his lectures can get extremely tedious. Very nice and helpful to students, kinda awkward at times. No textbook. Your grade comes only from tests, so don't miss class, take A LOT of notes, and study those notes before the test.

If you have a question or want something clarified, don't be afraid to ask! He wants you to understand the material and pass his class! It's not a hard class. Take good notes and make sure you study. His tests are easy if you study, but only grades are the three tests. Overall, he's a cool guy who cares about his class.

did not like this prof at all. was very unorganized with his lecture going all over the place instead of going from point to point. was very rude too. would not recommend this prof at all.

Absolutely the WORST instructor I've had throughout my entire time in college. He is a right leaning, conservative, out-dated, rude, and arrogant. I really liked the subject, but couldn't stand him. I would tell everyone to avoid him at all costs.

He's a great professor who is very passionate about the subject he teaches! Very tough class and he makes you work for your grade. DO NOT SKIP CLASS! His lectures are all verbal so make sure you are listening to everything he says. He does not allow phones, except if you are recording his lecture. Be prepared to come to class and ask questions.

Dave is an amazing professor! His lectures are long, but are so interesting! He loves when people participate in his class and you will do better for it anyway! You ABSOLUTELY have to take notes and pay attention in his class, but he's fun and makes jokes so it's not hard to stay focused! His tests are tough, but pay attention and study to do well!

Dave is a good guy & good teacher. I got really high scores on all three of my exams, but most of my classmates didn't do as well. You just have to take really thorough notes & actually take time to study. My only complaint is he doesn't always explain concepts clearly. It's like his thought process is a little jumbled. Overall good class though.
