He doesnt grade attendance so it isnt mandatory except on speech and exam days. However if you want to know the criteria for your speeches, Id come the other days too. The book isnt a must have either unless you want to study for your exams, although he does provide a detailed review very similar to the test.

Took second level writing (2367) with him. As long as you do your work, you will get an A. Be prepared to create a speech worth 17% of your grade, but he is an easy grader. Both exams had reviews that were exact replicas of exam. Do your work and you'll get an A. He's a pretty laid back guy and this was my second class with him.

Dr. Easter is a good professor with a sense of humor. I enjoyed his class. However, be prepared to work in groups and to make a few speeches throughout the quarter. This actually makes the class more enjoyable. I strongly encourage anyone interested in the history of mass media and communications to take this course.

Dr. Easter was one of the greatest Professors that I have had so far. His class was so much fun and he was extremely helpful. If you need to take a Comm class, take it with him!

Good prof. Very fair and is a very funny guy. Makes class fun for the most part. Puts notes on overhead which is helpful but boring. Overall good prof and good class. be prepared to give speeches, a lot of them, for 105. That sucks but small classes makes it easier and he doesn't grade them too hard.
