Comment:
Awful professor. Even if you read the book, it's still almost impossible to study info without direction as to what material you'll be tested over. You are expected to study every last detail, only to be tested over 20% of what you studied. 0/10. Would not recommend. I passed by the skin of my teeth the SECOND time around. Avoid her at all costs.

Exams are impossible and lectures are taught very quickly without much detail. The concepts which could have been very easy to learn were taught in a manner that med school students might have been able to explain. Not college freshman with no experience

Dr. Hines is a very nice and knowledgeable woman, however, she does not explain concepts in a manner that students can understand. About >1 chapter 1 class. Be prepared to study >3 hours per week to pass the class. If you get above a 92% average on the first 4 tests, you don't have to take the final. Do the worksheets and buy the extra credit!

She teaches to quickly, not giving the chance for first time anat. students to truly learn from the lectures. This leaves you stranded solely teaching yourself. Then on all the tests she goes into unbelievably specific detail for each question. Do not take her course if you can help it!

Hines is a very intelligent woman, but she often forgets how to speak to students with an understandable vocabulary. She talks very fast, and the material is not explained in a way that makes sense for an introductory class. If you want to pass, you'll have to devote hours to studying. Hardest class I have ever taken.

Comment:
Dr. Hines is not a terrible professor. Poor study habits will result in failure. You are supposed to read the chapter and be aware of the knowledge before lecture class and are expected to study for a minimum of a half of hour each weekday and at least 1 hour on the weekend. This is college, not HS! This is hard, it is a weedout course after all.

Taking her right now, I'm switching to another professor next semester due to how difficult her teaching is. her pace is too fast, does not give the basic knowledge needed of anatomy.

Comment:
This class was not easy, I would study for days for each exam and still barely pass. She would go over almost an entire chapter in one lecture. The pace of the class is extremely fast and when people would ask questions she would get upset and give a rushed answer. Do not ever skip this class or you will get behind and it is very hard to make up.

I skipped lecture all the time. It is hard for a prof to jam a chapter of anatomy in an hour so a lot of these poor freshmen that make up the majority of the class struggle. Most have poor study skills too. Study Dr Hines outline and you'll ace every exam. Poor study habits bad grades not Dr Hines bad teaching You can only blame yourself.

I graduated from Akron and took much more difficult classes than Anatomy but this was hands down the most difficult professor that I ever had and it was my worse grade in undergrad or grad school. She is a boring lecturer and does not prepare students well for the exams. Avoid this professor if you can.

Very nice and knowledgable teacher. Grades only come from 4 tests, which are NOT introductory level questions. Be prepared to study a lot on your own, she goes very fast. Complete the worksheets. Must have above a 93% to not take the final. If you are looking to get an A I would recommend a different professor. Each year the exams get harder.

Offers online extra credit, have to pay for the subscription, but it's a helpful grade boost. All lec notes and worksheets are on Brightspace. DO THE WORKSHEETS. No credit for them, but the tests are based off them. KEEP YOUR OLD TESTS, the final is all questions from past tests. Go to tutoring because she talks to fast and never repeats anything

No homework, only graded on 4 tests. WS and study guides she creates are NOT relevant to the test at all. I' m an honors student, I've read the book, studied with group ect. for 3 hours each day and I'm just slipping by with a C. Tests (your whole grade) are NOT introductory level. Other profs have unfair advantages grade wise. DO NOT rec. AT ALL!

There are a lot of negative ratings on here, but I enjoyed her class. You have to put in the work to study, which is why some people don't like her as much. She is engaging and a really good teacher. Plus, if you do well enough, you don't have to take the final.
