I didn't think he was that bad. Study the powerpoint notes, practice the sample tests over and over. If you find you're doing horrible (as I did after the second test), do the recommended problems, use the textbook. I found that attending lecture was better than studying on your own. An A is feasible if you put in the effort. :)

Avoid taking him if at all possible! His lectures were almost pointless for me because he does not explain things well, just rambles as he reads his slides. I found that I had to teach myself.

Avoid taking him at all costs! He is super boring and just rambles on and on as he reads off of his slides. He acts like you're already supposed to know the basics of everything when you ask a question and answers questions with a tone like you're stupid. But his finals are literally just a copy and paste from previous exams.

Absolutely terrible! He expects you to know everything. The lectures and notes are useless. I had to teach myself from the book. The online Mastering Chemistry doesn't follow what we did in lecture. He clearly didn't want to be there, or help. He was more concerned about is research. Avoid Dr. Grossie at all costs!

Dr Grossie's CHM 122 class wasn't very interesting, but his exams were very straightforward. If you attend lecture and take good notes, you'll have no trouble at all on the exam. If you do have questions, he's extremely helpful in explaining things one-on-one. If you're good about attending lecture and taking notes, his class isn't hard at all.

Grossie's lectures are hardly worth attending. He is very droll and doesn't explain things well. However, if you do the practice tests and practice problems, you will be fine. However, his TA's are terrible and he doesn't seem to care. His comb-over is...interesting, to say the least.

His Chm 122 was a little dry but he is pretty easy to talk to in office hours. If you study his practice test and read the book, you will basically at least get a B. His class is pretty good if you don't mind not having too much interactions in lectures. Oh, by the way. Do not even bother to argue with him about the lab TAs, he does not care.

Boring, teaches from only slides and is very monotone. Dont bother talking to him either if you have an issue with one of his GTA's either, he will take their word over yours. Reading the book will help and doing practice problems as well. If you can avoid him.

Easy class, I've never taken chemistry before and I had no problem with this class or this professor. He is un-orginized and seems to only teach his slides, but if you know the slides you will have no problems at all with this class.

Took for 122 and wasn't that bad but was quite the opposite for 123. Confused himself a lot during lecture and you pretty much have to teach yourself. Do the practice test and find old exams. Try and get all the points on Mastering Chemistry because they come in handy. If you just want a C to pass and finish the series, take him.

Dr. Grossie has a bad RYP reputation but his class isnt that bad. His lecture is boring, but if you study his notes and use the practice exams you will pass. You dont have to go to class, but I would recommend it because he uses examples that he goes over in class on the exam. He was pretty decent. I wouldnt mind taking him again.

Do your part and you will be fine. Chemistry = try. He is helpful when you go to him. Do the practice exam and go to class, pay attention, he often relates subjects to real world situations so it is easier to understand. I recommend him and his final is literally copy and paste off of old exams. EASY!!

Dr. Grossie isn't as terrible as everyone makes him out to be on here. Lectures may be a bit dry, but as long as you go to class, pay attention, and do the practice exams, you'll do fine on the tests. He's not the greatest teacher, but he's not the worst; he's a very intelligent man. Overall, the class is pretty easy if you actually try.

Worst proffesor or teacher I've had my whole life. He doesn't teach, he won't answer questions in words you can understand, and his exams have nothing to do with what is on the notes. To pass make sure you do all the practice problems and practice tests, otherwise you're very likely to fail.

Without a doubt the worst professor I've ever had. His lectures don't go over what's on the tests, and unless you've read the book before you go to class, you won't understand a thing. His sample tests, real tests and answer keys are filled with typos that make it impossible to be helpful. Don't take unless you can teach yourself chemistry.

Was pretty useless in lecture. He taught and tested off of his power points. Did do problems during lecture but struggled with them himself so he just manages to confuse you further. Study off of the power points with assistance of the book and you will do fine. Final is copy paste of previous test given throughout the quarter.

Not good at lecturing. He gives notes, but donesn't have anything for you to fill in. He leave the problems blank and goes over them in class, but is not good at explaining them. He gives no review sessions. Do not take him if you have a choice in someone else!!

I took Dr. Grossie for CHM 122 and 123, 123 is much harder than 122. Make sure to do all the practice problems given if you want an A in the class. The best thing is that his final usually consists of the multiple choice of the first 3 exams and maybe a few other questions.

Took his class for 122, 123, 125,126, and 127. His class is based 95% off his notes, some useless homework to snag extra points. No curves, low pass rate, vague descriptions in class, tests are based off lecture slides, gives sample tests which are about 3/4ths helpful on tests. No interesting labs, a few labs in 127 relate to the material in 123.
