All lecture notes are posted online and review at each lecture gives answers to test questions word for word. Lectures were helpful to explain material but not necessary to go to to get a good grade. Final was cumulative and hard, a lot of material to be on one test. Curve was good and would recommend for an easy lab science gen ed.

Jenkins is an amazing person, very reachable outside of class. does review of the previous lecture--those notes are always on the tests/quizzes. basically, you need to memorize everything. the quizzes and midterm were very easy. the final was unfairly hard, but the bonus question was easy and worth 10 points. labs are fine, TA was helpful

Although it isn't the most exciting class, Professor Jenkins is very knowledgeable and willing to help. The lectures are slow and boring at times but the labs are very entertaining and teach a lot. Professor Jenkins is literally one of the nicest and smartest professors I've ever had!!!!

Professor Jenkins's class is perfect to just get your lab credit out of the way. Truly an easy A, most people don't even show up to the lecture. The labs can be somewhat frustrating but you usually leave early. He pretty much tells you exactly what to study before any tests - just make sure you actually study

Mineralogy is a challenging course and he manages to make it somewhat interesting. He will answer every single question you have and really try to get you to understand it. He stays in the lab with the TA and helps you work through your labs as well. He is definitely the most helpful and involved professor I have yet to have. Jenkins is a real gem.

Geology 212 is a very difficult class, but I loved it and I love him. Be ready to memorize an insane amount of information. Textbook will help you on tests, but it isn't necessary except for labs. Doesn't take attendance but doesn't put lectures online. Hope you get a better TA than I did. Curves tests.

He posts all lecture notes online, attendance is not mandatory. Lab is somewhat difficult but manageable. Quizzes and tests are easy with 2-3 days of studying. Great class to take for a gen-ed.

He posts outlines of each lecture which most people use to study from, so thats super nice, but there is a lot to know so be prepared to know the material. He's very boring as a professor, but it's a great class to take if you need your lab credit fulfilled. Never any homework

Jenkins' is absolutely adorable and truly loves what he teaches. His lectures are sometimes rather long and can get boring but they are pretty laid back and attendance isn't mandatory. It's a good class to take if you're looking just to fulfill a science lab gen ed. It's not too hard but you'll have to study a good amount for tests and quizzes.

Jenkins was a great teacher. He puts full lecture outlines up on blackboard and if you review those a few days before the tests and quizzes, along with your notes, you'll do well. The labs are sometimes annoying and the TA's weren't too helpful, but Jenkins himself was awesome. Very funny too.

Jenkins is a good guy. Lectures are boring but he does his best to try to keep people entertained. If you go to the lectures (not mandatory but it doesn't hurt) make sure to sit in the front to avoid zoning off. Labs are beyond easy and usually take less than 2 hours. Definitely recommend to fill a lab science if you aren't a science major.

only took this for a lab credit, but it turned out very interesting. jenkins is funny and does his best to not make the class boring. info is all very simple if you go to class. 2 quizzes, midterm, final - only times i read the textbook. labs are incredibly easy compared to other labs. highly recommend. this class is like a good nat geo documentary

Class was very difficult for a 100-level. Labs were not too bad though. You definitely have to study hard. I did not think he was that great of a teacher but I thought he was very nice and understanding when I had to talk to him about something personal.

Lectures are BORING. Front-row seat recommended if you don't want to zone out. Labs were annoying and borderline pointless as well. Regardless, Prof. Jenkins puts all the notes online for you to study from, and whether you're interested in geology or not, it's a fairly easy class to pass.

Worst class! Do not take! extremely boring, TAs are terrible and no help, he expects you to memorize over 50 detailed pages of notes for the final (25 chapters condensed into this) and this class consists of chemistry! lab is easy but not the lecture!

Mineralogy class. I hated the material at the beginning and the middle of it.(The course is basically 1-theory on mineral, 2-optical mineralogy, 3-survey of main minerals and rocks) He is very knowledgeable in his field. Though monotone, he's a very nice teacher. Though a lot of memorization (~50-60)involved in minerals, it's worth it to know all.

He is really boring and if you were not good at science to begin with you wont be inspired and you wont understand most of the time, he's a monotone man and his handwriting is bad. The tests are hard and he grades the essays hard. I got a 0 out of 25 on the essay for the midterm and i was a A-/B+ science student while in high school...
