There is a reason CA has such a bad reputation for education. This professor, when I asked for input, told me I looked 'stunning'...very professional.

It is pointless for this man to have lecture. He did not give any pointers or answer questions about classroom concerns. Class time was used to read about the latino experience in education. IT'S NOT THE POINT OF THE CLASS. He also ignored the experience of other cultures. Our last class was about how "white men can't dance" Talk about a waste.

It's hard to take an educational methods teacher seriously when he admits that he's never had any extensive experience in a real word classroom. That being said, the class didn't provide anything useful or worthwhile. Most of Dr. Moguel's rare insights may sound good in theory, but are predictably not suited for a genuine classroom environment.

He was not good at all. He would not give me any pointers and would make false accusations. He is very inconsistent. He is the second in command, but I really think he should learn about teaching before being in charge. His dissertation is based on himself as well. I would not recommend you to take him for any class.

Moguel is by far the BEST professor at CSUN.Notice the comments left by others-these people couldn't even spell.Obviously they have no passion for education nor want to make a difference through change. His class is NOT easy BUT he will empower you with the skills necessary to educate. He teaches out-of-the-box methods.Very thoughtful and knowledged.

He is a very pleasant and reasonable teacher in my expereince. He appreciates insights and meaningful discussions. He seems to recognize that his students have valuable and interesting opinions, and he lets them share their thoughts.

My problem is that he teaches CSUN world not real world. Most of the advice he gives is if you had a perfect class, not a sheltered or average class. I did not learn anything in his class. Avoid his class.

He said we would not learn a thing and he was right. 80% student presentations and no teaching. Truly a shame.

I took this class in the summer and it was extremely easy. One presentation and that was it. However, the class itself was very boring, there was very little structure, and I didn't learn much of anything, which is to be expected when the class is simply a collection of student presentations.

Very vague instructions and the uncanny ability to beat a horse to death ... and then some. Nice guy, but needs more time practicing what he teaches.

His experience as a K-12 teacher (having only taught as an emergency teacher for 2 years)just doesn't seem to provide enough background for a methods class. He means well, and his theory is excellent, but the practical/realistic side of the classroom gets short shrift.

Enjoyed professor, very nice and approchable. Needs to be more professional, class has no structure and the methods he is using do not apply to teaching middle or high school.
