Comment:

PB is one of UCR's best professors. The class consisted of 3 exams, attendance, and discussion grade. One assigned book plus weekly readings online. You can get by without reading but the lecture is a must. Study guides are thorough. Would take him again.

Comment:

Would recommend to take his classes if you're a political science major. Lectures are straightforward. He provides a study guide for midterms and final in the course. As long as you try, you should be able to get a good grade. His Posc 162s class has two midterms and 1 final, no paper.

Highly recommend this professor! He explains even the hardest of topics with ease and is incredibly informed. There were 3 exams, all multiple choice and an essay. Show up to class and you will do well on the exams! His sense of humor fit the class topic pretty well too so the class was very enjoyable. Plus his TA this quarter was a cool dude.

I truly enjoyed POSC 150S (Human Rights) with Prof. Pion-Berlin. Easy and straight forward lectures. Lots of reading every week in the textbook/reader and online articles. However, his tests are multiple choice with a few short answer essays. They are easy as long as you attend class and sections.

Awesome Professor! There really is not reason whatsoever not to get an 'A' in this course. He gives you all the necessary tools to succeed. Lecture is your best friend. Go to lecture and you can do not worse than a 'B' in the course. Office Hours are also very helpful. He wants you to succeed! Also doesn't hurt that he's hilarious and friendly!

Awesome teacher. He really knows what he's talking about. Took about 5 of his classes, they all relate to each other. He usually uses the same cases in all his classes. Posts lecture notes towards testing time depending on attendance. Take his class if you love Latin American Politics, he'll interest you a lot.

He is a good teacher. His classes are a little boring, but if you pay attention and take notes you will do fine. No paper, 3 test, provided lecture notes, and even a study guide. Test were not bad , just study. Only way to fail this class is if you are lazy and don't study and don't attend lectures. But isn't that the case for any class.

This guy is humorous and the subject is interesting. He seems a bit hard to engage but visiting him in office hours helps. Once he gets to know you he is very eager to help. Tests are easy and all the readings for class are posted on ilearn...therefore no need to buy textbooks.

The best professor hands down! His is extremely knowledgeble about the military, which quite suprised me since I'm an army vet. The books are not needed, his lecture notes pretty much cover everything. However you'd want to attend class, since it is rather impossible to get access to his notes. The only time he posts his notes online is before test

Most boring professor I have EVER had in my LIFE.. I dropped the first class I ever took with him after a week. I decided to give it a second chance but I ended up dropping his SECOND course too. Monotone, uninteresting, no humor and over all just plain sucks!! I gotta hand it to him he's a very smart man & researcher but he should NOT teach.

Wow! He was such a gret professor! I wish I could have him again. His class was very cool and unlike what others think he did not push his ideas. I'm a rep. and never felt upset in class. He is great I think everyone should take him at least once!!!!!
