Comment:

Professor Smith is an excellent professor with a very positive and encouraging attitude. Willing to help students on subject matter that they do not understand and at a convenient time for the student. Provides extra credit opportunities! There is homework in the textbook but it is not grade. homework is used to prepare you for the test!

Comment:

Professor Don Smith is a gem. He has a marvelous sense of humor and clearly articulates the material and explains it well. The way he starts from the ground up and defines things at a term level and then as a whole unit makes the concept stick a lot better. Not to mention, the labs are actually somewhat entertaining.

In life, theres very few people you encounter that leave a lasting impression; I can say without a doubt that Mr. Smith is one of those people. He is one of CSMs finest professors. If youre eager to learn physics, this man will teach you. Mr. Smith, if youre reading this: Thank you for everything. Cheers!

I am taking 4 classes this semester at CSM, and Mr. Smith is the only teacher that seems to actually teach. It's quite refreshing to come to class to learn something new. He explains the subject very well, and if you understand what HE teaches, you will pass the class.

The Lab works great to solidify the concepts he teaches in the lecture, along with his great illustrations, and good humor, the lab was the more enjoyable part of taking Physics.

Great teacher, unfortunately he sustained some serious injuries during this last semester and was swapped out for another less superior professor. The notes and homework are all really handy, and he will guide you through any problems you might have. Definitely come to class because he breaks things down better than in his notes. Use Khan Academy.

The guys uses all the same jokes, but gives lovely extra credit so its finev. He gives online exams and quizzed which is AWESOME. I really recommend him.

Professor Smith is fantastic. His lectures are engaging and he would be happy for everyone to get an A in the course. All tests and quizzes are online and untimed - you have no one but yourself to blame if you don't do well. Lecture notes are all online for easy annotation during the lecture. Smith gives you all the tools you need to succeed.

Prof Smith clearly explains every lab at the start of class. The lab paperwork is thorough, so lab itself is a matter of performing the experiment and filling in the packet. All of this is completed during class time, so there is no outside work beyond reading the lab prior to class.

Professor Smith is a wonderful teacher! He has really long lectures, but if you don't ever understand something, all you have to do is ask and he will be more than happy to help. Class is pretty easy seeing how I never took a Physics class in High School and got an A in it for the first time in college. He is the best choice definitely!

He is great! His lectures notes are all on blackboard, so you can be ready in advance to listen to his lectures and add any extra helpful notes. He gives extra credit for attendance and has a few other simple opportunities for it as well. All of his quizzes and exams are on blackboard and you have about a week from opening them to complete them!

I took him for physics 1010 and we only had 3 quizzes and 3 tests and that was all the grades. The quizzes were like pre tests to the exams. It's almost impossible not to pass. He really loves physics and gets really into his drawings and but they look very neat and nice like they're from a text book.

The professor post all his lecture notes on blackboard, so all you have to do is print them out and come to class. He gives extra credit, and both the quizzes and exams are online, on blackboard. Other than your quizzes, exams, extra credit, and attendance, that is all that makes up your grade for the lecture. For lab, have a good partner.

Don Smith is the best. Intro to Physics (I'm terrible at physics) would have been awful without him. Great teacher, great disposition, easy course load--use his notes, follow along, and enjoy his corny jokes!

Mr.Smith is a wonderful teacher! Great at explaining the complexed world of physics... all quizzes and exams are online UNTIMED! He is the best there is.. if you are having difficulites with a concept he really goes that extra mile. Highly recommended for physics!

If you have the option to take Mr. Smith's class DON'T HESITATE. He keeps you engaged with his diagrams (he used to be an art major)but he is also thorough in his explanations and doesn't hesitate when you ask for help. If kids have questions, he'll spend an entire class making sure everyone grasps the concept. Exceptional teacher!!!

Comment:

Nice guy and explains each concept clearly. Very artistically-talented. Posts all notes online so you can print and write notes on side rather than taking full notes by yourself. Clear about quizzes/exams and is great about partial credit. Nothing in this class was extremely difficult and I would take him again if there were a Physics 4 offered.
