Comment:
Not knowing this course was cross-listed, I expected a sociology class. Ended up with a purely anthropological study course. Disjointed lectures that included too much of her own politics for my taste.

There are only 4 tests and no other assignments during the semester, so it is essential to attend lectures and take notes. Dr. Davis really knows what she's teaching. Her experience comes through. I love all the Anthropological studies she references in class. Overall a good class that offers new perspectives.

Dr. Davis is an amazing teacher. She contributed so much to the person I am today, and I am going to grad school for anthropology because of her. A wonderful role model for both male and female students alike. She has such an interesting perspective on anthropology, culture, and politics. Everyone at USD should take at least one class from her.

Very nice lady, hilarious, has an interesting perspective on the material that will be on the test. Also, as a guy, she's a huge feminist. Kind of funny, but also extremely uncomfortable. Overall, definitely a good class.

Dr. Davis is really amusing, she seems like such a confident person which is intimidating. I love the way she talks it keeps me awake. she does have a strict attendance policy but let me make up a test when i missed it. i think she is one of the best teachers at USD, and strangely attractive. probably because she is interesting and not boring.

While Donna Davis has her quirks, she totally knows her stuff. Also, freaking hilarious. She doesn't use a textbook in her upper level classes because she disagrees with most of them.

Very hard material to understand, hard papers, dry sense of humor. She makes awesome funny faces and voices when imitating someone else. Definitely do not want to miss any of her classes unless it is a must, because hard to comprehend her notes you would get from someone else.

I enjoyed Dr. Davis's cultural anthropology class so much that I decided to also take human sexuality with her. She is a fun lady and I would recommend taking anything she teaches.

One of the best tenured professors at USD. And, unlike many tenures, she still continues publishing research. Because the dept. is so small, she has excellent one on one learning with students, if they choose to do so.

I took her Culture and Personality test. She's completely batty. There is no textbook, and you can't tell is she is just making it all up. You couldn't pay me to take another one of her classes. She has issues with voice inflection..she's quiet and then suddenly starts screaming. Makes recording her lectures a huge pain.

Dr Davis is the best this institution has...she is very helpful outside of class and works one-on-one with her students...she gives back what you put into her class and is so extremely passionate about her work that you cant help but get inspired...anyone who has had any issues with her needs to do a self check and realize that you prolly brought it on yourself...ive had her for at least 6 classes and consider her my mentor and a friend

Davis has such a wealth of information; it's almost impossible to not get anything out of her class. Not very approachable, but helpful when it comes to making up tests. Attendance policy is strict, especially since it's lecture class. Funny. Interesting.

VERY UN-APPROACHABLE AND UNCLEAR AT TIMES. NOT WILLING TO COMPROMISE WITH STUDENTS ON ATTENDANCE POLICY...NO ABSENCE IS EXCUSED WHICH IS RIDUCULOUS.
