The lecturing part of the course was not too bad! I was engaged in every class. He made me appreciate history and government - both past and present - much more. The order of how he delivered the course material all mattered, very well organized. A lot of reading involved but worth it! He has a wealth of knowledge and experience!

Comment:

If you're passionate about NYC history, culture, and government, this is definitely a great class to take. He is super knowledgeable it and has a lot of experience in government. He assigns a TON of reading though, so just try to stay on top of it. He's very caring and understanding with his students, and also funny at times!

Comment:

When I initially started the class, I hated it - the reading was way too intense, and Muzzio rubbed me the wrong way. But after a few more classes, I really warmed up to him. The man is incredibly knowledgeable on all things NYC, and is very fair in his grading. I would absolutely recommend taking his class - but beware the reading!

Highly recommended! 2 papers, 5 quizzes, and a final. He drops 2 of your quiz grades.Class ultimately designed to ensure you get a good grade.Crystal clear with what he wants in his assignees;provides you with his lecture notes which is exactly where the quiz questions come from. Does not want to trick you, very straight forward. He is a character!

Intense character...TONS of reading, but no exams. Papers are challenging, but doable and help you learn the material. Uses multimedia a lot, to varying effect. Stalks around classroom barefoot. Loves himself and his relationship with NYC political media. Would take again.

Muzzio was the worst professor and does not know the first thing about leadership. Instead the class is forced to sit through long Rants that keep you there late and have little value. This was the most disappointing class and professor I've had at Baruch so far.

All that is said above is true. He is great and really knows the material. He is very vocal and he keeps the class going. He is a bit disorganize and tends to have favoritism. He does not seem to like the female students but he is not a bad perofesor. The readings and the classroom experience are worthy.

Smart by disorganized and admittedly obnoxious. Loves to waste time discussing sylabus issues. Kept class active but whereas he discussed fe/male leadership he seemed oblivious to the fact that his style scared most of the female pop from participating.

Comment:

Lots of reading and papers, but he keeps the class interesting. Very intense speaker, lots of yelling and moving around. If you do the work and participate, you will do well in his class. MUST participate. (Being able to write well wouldn't hurt either).
