I was disappointed that the actual course did not match the online description. He was a pretty easy grader. By the end of the semester, the readings appeared to be pretty similar and repetitive. Class was discussion of the readings, but could get off topic (which was more interesting). No tests, just several long papers.

Tebenhoff is one of the most personable professors at Luther. His interest in who I was and why I took the class inspired me more than any lecture could. I loved the class. Readings aren't essential and he isn't that tough on papers

hilarious and full of interesting stories which have a tendency to get off topic but eventually circle around again to be relevant. not much work, usually a few papers but a lot of discussion. he will assign a bunch of books but you won't read them all because he will change the syllabus as he goes, but its chill. loved all my classes with him

Very funny, knows all his topics that he teaches. I have had tebb, in about 3 or more classes and i loved every one. You do tend to get off topic sometimes. Very easy to please on exams and papers. The book list is long but if you read the major points of the books, you'll be fine in any of the classes he teachs. Learned a lot in his courses.

Had Tebbenhoff for Paideia. He's really good in my opinion. He makes us think... though he doesn't teach the class how the "God's of Paideia" want it taught. He likes to cause trouble in the realm of Paideia profs. Research paper on court cases in England... good or bad?

He knows alot about the subject, and it is impressive. Enjoyable in class, funny, etc. A LOT of reading though. I found it too much, but he grades and test very reasonably. Not very hard to take, if you can keep with stacks of books.
