Showed up late often. Talked about irrelevant topics. She had a syllabus in which we would ideally review before each of the 4 tests but unfortunately she did not stick to it at all and we never got to review. It got to a point where we rushed through chapters. She never answered my e-mails. She isn't readily available to help,however she is smart

I am currently taking her MAT105 class and would definitely choose her for additional Math classes. She knows her stuff, she knows how to explain it nicely. I have been out of school for more than 20 years and starting college again wasn't easy, but when you have a professor as nice and understanding as Ms. Allen, it makes a whole lot difference.

She gives a ton on homework without any explanation. You will teach yourself and spend hours upon hours doing homework. She gives extremely hard tests, and because she does not explain anything, it is almost impossible to pass her class. It seems as if she is doing this just for the paycheck.

I took this class once a week for 3 hours. She rushes and what she doesn't get through she just assumes you can learn on your own at home. Her tests are hard and the material is almost impossible to remember after not having the class for a week. Nice lady, maybe not for a 3 hour class. Dreaded it.

Explain where the background of the problem is found and doesn't focus on how to solve it easy and systematically. I don't have time for that nor do I care about where it came from or the 22453485 other ways to solve the problem. I am not a math major I am in high school math. Way too fast, doesn't utilize the book and MATH LAB SUCKS!!!!!

excellent teacher. she scares you in the begining when she hands out the syllabus but once the class starts its a breeze. she teaches very well. make sure you understand the material. keeps the class up and going. the work she assigns is for your own good. it is college now you have do the work. test are what we learn in class. nothing tricky.

she explained the work step by step and made sure it was understood before moving on to the next thing. She honestly seemed to care about her students knowing the work as opposed to just throwing out information as many other professors do. She is not completely easy, you must work hard to understand the info in order to pass.

One of the best teachers ever! Its calculus, expect to do work. However, she is so good at explaining even only 6 problems from the homework attempted will help to understand problems (try and do most!). Plus she gives the most helpful test study problems. I wish I would take her for all the 4 calc courses!!!!

Horrible, she is unprepared, rambles about her life and bike riding, but barely teaches anything. Be prepared to teach yourself, because she teaches nothing!

I took Calc 1 and 2 in back to back summer sessions with Prof. Allen, and enjoyed both classes (as far as one can). A quick teaching style, partially driven by the 5 week format, that kept you working but didn't overwhelm. Students who have a hard time with math might find it difficult, but Calc is difficult then too.

I'm so glad I choose this teacher, she teaches at a steady pace that I liked. She gives homework for each section but you get plenty of time to complete. She is funny and understanding. She is very helpful outside the class and emails. I like her style of teaching and I recommend her to anyone taking math.

Calc 1 & 2 - Does a fine job of teaching. If you struggle in her class it's your own fault because she presents things clearly and tests on exactly the material which was taught in class. Yes she is fast paced but if you keep up with the homework (and actually understand how to do it) then there's no reason not to get 100% in her class.

Halfway through the semester with this instructor, and I dread going to the lectures. She treats the classroom like it's a stand up comedy club, (which is fine, if you're an effective teacher) but we're a month behind on material and half the class has dropped. Her teaching style is incomprehensible and scattered, with 10 conflicting emails a week.
