Godard is sooo amazing! He makes the course interesting and gives tons of extra credit opportunities. I took him for Stats424 along with the lab, and boy was it challenging. However, he is available 24/7 to answer any questions you may have. There is no midterm or final just three research reports which are intense. There are no tests just quizzes.

This is my 2nd time taking Godard. He cares!! Their are lab quizzes, a handful of homework's, and 3 research reports. If you show up, try, and turn in your work you will pass. The material can be difficult but he helps you succeed. If you try you will pass!!! He is my favorite professor!! He is funny and personable. 10/10 would recommend.

I highly recommend this professor! He really makes the course approachable for everyone and gives many opportunities to pass and earn a good grade. Not overloaded with work and keeps his lectures interesting and relevant. Drops two quizzes and will give you a passing grade on every quiz as long as you're in class.

Professor Godard is extremely funny. He has a deep understanding of pure sociology and social geometry. Attending class is mandatory, but interesting. The ideas presented are theoretical and give a great depiction of what the future has in store for us.

He provides you with various forms of extra credit and the homework seems pretty easy at first. But as the course goes on he becomes less helpful and replies to emails in a rude manners. Makes rude comments towards students and puts students on the spot for asking a simple question. I would not recommend him at all. Please avoid him at all cause.

If I could go back in time and take a different professor I would. He says one thing but does another. Tells you one thing in person but when you ask him again he denies of ever saying it. He is unclear of what he wants and confuses you instead of helping. His instructions are unclear and so is his ways of teaching.

I decided to take him because I had previously taken him for research methods. I thought it would be a good idea. It was horrible he made you feel dumb when you didn't understand something or asked a simple question. He was not clear on his grading scale and took forever to grade our homework. He would say one thing and do another thing.

He is a really fun professor and he does pop quizzes during the lectures that are easy 5 points to help your grades and the exams are online. He is hilarious and I wish he taught more CJS classes!

He is an amazing professor though his sense of humor is not for everyone but oh well. He does have a heavy coursework but he gives you all the materials to pass so if you dont its because YOU didnt put in the work. So much extra credit and is always eager to help. He drops 3 hw and quizzes also. Final is either paper or exam, you get to decide.

In my four years at CSUN, I have never encountered such a horrible professor. He is extremely arrogant and rude when it comes to dealing with students. Claims to be accessible but rarely responds to emails. He makes students do an unreasonable amount of work (HW, daily quizzes, labs). I would recommend that sociology majors steer clear of him.

He was OKAY in terms of being a professor. His lectures are heavy and boring (case for majority of the professors). His grading confuses me and his homework assignments do not make sense and he doesn't explain it thoroughly. He has take home exams but he has a problem for not explaining what he wants us to answer. I would not take him again.

He is a very acquired taste (to be kind). Very vulgar sense of humor (constantly talking about and asking about sex). He has a very arrogant way of teaching and almost gives the sense that questions annoy him and he doesnt really want to help. Although he says he always responds fairly quickly, I had several emails unanswered. Very dissatisfied.

Every class is engaging. You have homework that are due in a reasonable time. If you go to class you will not regret it. Every lecture will help you with future exams and each lab will help you towards the final project.

I took 497 with Godard during Summer term. The class was boring. At first it seemed like he really wanted to help his students. He would get frustrated when anybody would ask questions. He had this strange arrogance to him. Few understood any topics completely. I like how he constantly tries to improve the class. He is a good guy, but class is bad.

Tough class, but it is upper level statistics... Do all of the work, he drops the three lowest quizzes, labs, hws, and research reports. Great professor, good luck trying to get into his class, it fills up fast!

Personally, I returned to college after a long hiatus. Professor Godard, made it easy to understand the material and was quick to reply to emails. It was a challenging course, but the material learned was very interesting. He jokes around, and is part of what kept me going to class. Extra Credit was very helpful in my case!
