Comment:

I took this class online, so the class was very crammed. Professor Newsome helped ease our the stress of the class. She is understanding and allows assignment extensions. Emails are checked and answered quickly. Extra credit is offered to boost your grade up. If you have LOTS of time in your schedule, take her online class. Exams are on campus only

Comment:

Prof Newsome is ok. The problem is NOVA's ITE 115 class structure. You have to take 4 proctored exams on campus! You cannot use Proctor U! So much for being entirely online. First two exams are term/definition heavy-get ready to memorize! Last two exams are easier and cover Office 2016. NOVA needs to revamp ITE 115 so you can use Proctor U!

Comment:

She is my fav. She gives helpful feedback, and responds quickly to emails. She does grade a bit tough, but explains why she takes points off, which helps with exams. Do all homework (easy) and all activities in interactive textbook (online) and exams will be a breeze. Extra credit discussion board for helping others with questions. 10/10 recommend!

Professor Newsome was really great and helpful. She always replied to my emails quickly. She gave me a chance to submit my assignment after it was due because there was sth wrong. She gives you up to 50 points extra credit. The 8-week online class was difficult itself with so much homework, but she really helped us through it.

Professor Newsome was a very thoughtful Professor. She reached out to me when I had an error, giving me an opportunity to correct myself with an assignment. Was always available to answer questions (and I had many).

good prof, but taking an online 8 week course was my mistake. too much work in that time frame. if taken in person im sure it would have been much better. she is clear and precise. a tough grader though.

Prof Newsome is a nit picky grader, expects way too much, assigns unbelievable amounts of hw, and is disrespectful to students. She talks down to students & calls them out on things as a "show" for the class. She hands hw back & tells you to fix something tedious then marks it late when you give it back to her. It is VERY easy to fall behind.

She's a nice professor but she just reads off powerpoint's and makes you do tedious assignments that will not help at all with your future. She teaches like a high school teacher no disrespect intended just the truth. I would try to avoid taking her but at the end of the day she's not that bad.

I didn't have a hard time in this class. Expect homework everyday. It's very easy though because it is straight from the textbook. The first few test which are on the chapters I recommend studying. But other than that a great class, she's very helpful and takes late work. Just follow the syllabus and you won't fall behind. The final wasn't too hard

She just reads off of the powerpoint. Takes points off of labs and exams for little mistake. Ex: if you misspell 1 word in an essay, she takes 1 point off the 10 point assignment. First two exams are incredibly difficult. the rest are tolerable but she deducts points often. 1 good thing though, she rounded me up from a B+ to an A.

I'm not very good w/ computers so this class was extremely difficult for me. Newsome is very sweet & laid back but expect lots of work! Chances are you'll have to finish assignments outside of class. Takes late work which is awesome because there's just way too much to finish on time. Get the textbook because you'll need it. No way around it /

If her class is the only class you are taking for the semester, then take her or Think Twice. Her assignments are overwhelming and exams are very hard. Her exams are from the lab and not multiple choices. She deducts points for spelling, periods or space; her class is a combination of English course and ITE. She is nice but looks are deceiving.

Easy class, do the assignments and you'll pass. Except you should really study for the exams they are exactly what the chapter is about. When you need help she helps, also extends deadlines for those who really need it. Follow the syllabus and you should pass.

Assignments are done from the book, if you have a question about it she can easily walk you through it. Sometimes I feel rushed just to complete the assignments before the end of class but if you stay focused its usually not a problem. She rarely gives homework, and tests are fairly easy if you study a little the night before.
