Comment:

One of the worst experience ever. Bad professor, expected us to know almost as much as him and didn't explain material well. Unreal hard grader. Would never advise someone to take a class from him. I wish him well in retirement but I sure am glad he is done teaching. Awful class and professor. Was not consistent in grading either. Worst prof ever.

Not a course I was particularly interested to begin with, I was just completing a GenEd. However, I found it extremely engaging. ELC is a great prof, he always tries to help even though he is a tough grader.

The Reformation was a great class, and Carlson is a great professor! He is really good with answering questions and really knows his stuff. His class is hard, though. There is tons of reading and he is a really tough grader. If you can handle the work and you're interested in the material, you will love him!

I've taken 5 classes with this guy, and it's because of him that I am a history major. Extremely intelligent and genuinely concerned about the improvement and scholarship of his students, always willing to help, and very clear. He's demanding and a difficult grader, but it pushes students to really get the material. Phenomenal professor.

He's a very demanding prof, but it brings out the best in his students. Very passionate about history and passes that on to his students. He's a great prof who makes it easy to understand complex issues. I would recommend a class with him, especially if you are a history major.
