Dr. Toolson is a wonderful lecturer & a really cool guy. The course is fascinating, however, Dr. Toolson is incredibly inconsistent with the frequency of his assignments. He often promises assignments & then doesn't post them. Yet, three weeks later will assign all the work at once. Not a good course for people with weekend jobs.

Comment:

A wonderful/entertaining lecturer. He goes in depth on where a phenomenon began biologically and how it has taken its spin in modern day society. This really helps your overall understanding. His interests are deep and wide in biology, and that comes across as very interesting lectures. I wish I could have taken more courses under his tutelage.

I took Toxins from Dr. Toolson and I loved this course very much. He is an amazing professor and loves his career too. He makes you work for your grade, but if you attend class you will be fine!

Dr. Toolson gave the class practice questions to do on our own that really prepares you for the tests. He does not use Powerpoint slides or videos, so if you do not go to class you will not get or understand the information. I would take him again.

Toolson is a really interesting man and very knowledgeable. This sometimes causes him not to be very clear because he is too smart. He is still a great teacher and I did learn a lot from him. Don't expect an A in this class.

He is relaxed and laid back in class and has a screw it I know what I'm talking about attitude, but don't let that fool you his tests are hard and you need to write out EVERY detail to get full credit. Take lots of notes. He answers all questions but says stay tuned a lot. Other then that pretty darn good teacher! DONT RELAX in this class!!!

Toolson is an amazing guy. I did not perform in his class on paper the way I wanted because he didn't use a book or slides, just talking and notes. I take horrid notes. But just listening to this guy you can learn so much! Very knowledgeable about many topics! Tries to keep his students up to date on currents events. Also hot and hilarious.

Toolson is great. He is a hilarious in the classroom and super helpful during office hours. He worked with me for several hours over the span of the class to get my code for the final project. If you want a fun class after the hell of the UNM core, take this class. Also, Toolson has rattle snakes in his office

Toolson rocks! He taught the second half of the semester of Bio 204 much better than the lady who taught the first half! He's funny and good-natured and most importantly, he makes class FUN. Interesting material too, made me want to come to class. Looking forward to taking more classes with him. Tests aren't to hard if you study.

Top notch lecturer, interesting, humorous, organized, thourough. Will emphasize what he wants you to know. Writes diffiuclt exams, teaches and tests to the top end of the class. Open door policy, will work with you for hours if needed, answers via email also. Very nice guy, but not easy. Live rattle snakes in his office!
