Comment:
This was an advanced seminar on philosophical naturalism. Professor Egan is very kind and gives extremely good feedback on papers. If you say something unfounded, she challenges you on it, and really critiques your arguments in papers. She is also extremely kind (Canadian) and easy to talk to.

Professor Egan is an excellent teacher of the course material, and explains everything in a clear and concise manner. There is no fooling the students; you will be graded on what she teaches and what's in textbook. With that being said, the exams do take a question or two from the textbook, so pay attention to what she goes over at start of class.

If you are a not a philosophy major and are just taking this to fulfill a math requirement, DO NOT TAKE THIS. The material is difficult and the class moves quickly. While the homework is not always challenging, the midterm and final are the hardest things I've ever taken. I have never had to put so much work into one class before.

This professor was not good for Logic. She isnt very good at explaining the content in a regular human language and certainly does not bring in good real-life examples for the concepts you learn.

Egan is tough, you have to go to class to understand the material. Midterm/final, plus homework is what covers the grade. Go to tutoring, and practice a lot. Logic is a hard subject, and it takes a lot of practice to get used to it. Don't miss class, and you're bound to get a decent grade.

Comment:
Professor egan is an excellent professor and makes everything clear. However, logic is a very hard subject and requires a lot of effort. Far from an easy A. In order to do well, you have to put in a lot of work for this hard subject. If you struggle at math, you'll struggle at logic a lot.

Professor Egan really knows what she's doing. She moves quickly but she explains everything very clearly. Class is mostly practicing logic problems and there is hw every other week or so. She is very direct and talks straight. I don't know how someone could teach the material better.

In addition to being one of the warmest, most welcoming person I've ever known, Prof. Egan is intellectually fierce and deeply passionate about the material she teaches. If she criticizes your view, it's for a good reason. Ask questions, go to office hours, do the (little) reading that is assigned and take excellent notes. Very fair exams/grades.

Superb professor. Incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to the subject matter. Has an amazing ability to make rather difficult material perfectly comprehensible by her straightforward and crystal clear explanations. Has very good structure; you are never left wondering what is expected from you and she never throws you for a loop. Take her.

Had her for logic and perception, she's not exactly energetic but she's crystal clear and understands even bad questions. Very nice and helpful and although she gives exam questions beforehand she grades fairly, no BS allowed. The notes write the exam and the paper isn't too harsh so long as you focus strictly on the material. I'd take her again

Like most Rutgers philosophy profs, she is really smart, super-sharp, good at explaining things. The class was a little boring, but she is a fair test-maker and grader. Recommended.

If you can do algebra, you can handle logic, it's really that simple. She makes everything crystal clear and goes at a slow pace relative to most other 3 credit classes at this university. Thorough, helpful, and systematic -- highly recommended.

Class was pretty boring but she's amazingly clear about everything. It's hard not to understand her if you can manage to pay attention. She seems really cold but if you go to office hours she's actually really nice. Weekly homeworks are easy but BEWARE the midterm and final!!!!

Amazing Professor. I had her for logic this past semester and she is one of the best professors I've had. Extremely clear, very helpful and really, really wants her students to do well. The exams aren't easy by any means, but if you pay attention in class and study you'll do well. Highly recommended.

An excellent teacher. She not only has a command over the subject, she explains things in a way that its easy to digest. Overall, one of the best professors ive had at Rutgers. Very helpful, stays after class to discuss and keeps students involved.

A good professor in the sense that she'll do plenty of concrete examples, but actual lecturing comes directly from the textbook. Exams are much tougher than the homework problems. Attendance is required and she'll embarrass you in front of the whole class if you do anything that she deems disruptive, even if the only person you disrupt is yourself.
