Comment:

Like others have said he has a very hectic teaching style. He speeds through the powerpoints and often corrects himself many times confusing the rest of students. The push up thing got old fast. Finally, he was pretty bad at communicating with people who had questions about tests. He would often not answer old forum posts until hours before a test.

Comment:

Buckless cares. That's really the only positive thing about him. He's basically tuned out to students during class and can be hostile if you have questions. He does a bunch of Tophat exercises so you have to go to class, which is really the only reason to go to class.

Comment:

Pay attention in class lectures, Buckless tends to try to teach you more than what's in the textbook. One of the nicest professors at NC State, he invites his students out for coffee each week. I highly recommend using the previous exams for study-- they're almost identical to the actual test. Going to the test review is extremely helpful as well.

Comment:

Buckless is a bizarre professor. He spends too much time trying to entertain you and then rushes through the content because he's wasted 10 minutes with push-ups or inviting you to coffee. His lectures are really, really, really long and dry and he doesn't focus very well.

Frank is not a good teacher. His lectures are dry, boring, and they usually have nothing to do with the tests. He explains so much irrelevant stuff. The practice tests teach you more than actually being in class. Go to tutors and do problems on your own time. Don't rely on him to round your grade up. I would not take him if I were you. Annoying too

Comment:

Dr. Buckless is a solid choice for students who have never been taught a lick of accounting. Lectures can be boring just because it's accounting, but if you pay attention, he breaks it down and makes it easier to understand. Dr. Buckless also is really funny and he cares about helping his students learn. Definitely recommend!

The head of the accounting apartment for a reason. Easily accessible. Simplifies accounting as easy as possible. Gives lots of potential to earn back credit on tests. Gives past tests for practice before you take your test which definitely covers all the material needed.

When you say you had Buckless you immediately gain respect among the people of Poole. He is the type of teacher to intentionally try and trip you up on tests. He also will do push ups in front of the class if you ask, which is a good way to know he is in shape. If you want to get an A just do the review exams.

Buckless... He is a smart man, but not a very good teacher. He loves to do pushups in front of the class, but accounting in general is not fun and he does not make it fun with his long lectures. Go to his review sessions though!!! I learned more in those than I did during class no doubt in my mind.

Buckless was one of the best accounting professors I have had at NCSU. Really explains the material well and makes sure that students actually understand the topics in class and outside of class. He takes students out to coffee after every class and holds review sessions himself on his own time on the weekend. I enjoyed his class a lot.

Buckless is fantastic. Definitely go on a coffee trip if you can, he wants to know students and get feedback. Great guy, loves to help. Keeps class entertaining. Tests are hard but that's typical for ACC. You can earn points back on quizzes during lab. Without a doubt the most caring professor I have had in PCOM.

I pretty much had to teach myself the material. He is more interested in talking about himself and doing push ups than teaching. He skims over information then asks a clicker question and tells you to talk to people around you about why only 17% of the class got the question right.

Dr. Buckless is the man! He's funny and super knowledgeable about ACC, but you have to sit in the front of the class to experience this. 75% of your grade is from the exams so basically you put in all this hard work to get an A- or lower because they are so hard. Buy the Connect because you'll get 100s on HW, but expect the tests to screw you over.

Professor Buckless is a great guy! He is so sweet & cares about his students. He got married during my class so i think that put him in a good mood! Anyways his homework is really easy! Class is super boring. Attendance is mandatory because there are clicker questions throughout the lecture but you can miss 5 days. He's pretty bad at explaining the material so studying the textbook is really all you can do. His tests are hard but he puts practice tests online, STUDY THEM! And go to his review sessions before exams.

Buckless is a decent teacher, not great, who rarely takes the opportunity outside of class to help students. He doesn't cover material well, and relies on videos to keep his students from getting frustrated.

Comment:

Buckless is great at explaining things. ACC can be boring by nature, but he tries to keep you interested. Daily in class quizzes in which you can work with the people around you. Some test questions are tricky, you really need to read the book, but he is good with curving grades and also does "group retests" after the test for extra credit.
