If you want a good grade in Ochem, you HAVE to work for it. This is not an easy class if all you do is the minimum. However, it is very possible to obtain a good grade in this class, given the effort. there's no challenge questions that he already hasn't put on his worksheets and a lot of the mechanisms he goes over are reflected on his tests.

I took chem 40B & 43A w/ him. He's honestly the most disorganized professor I've ever taken as a senior. He posts assignments last minute, talks about random stuff during lecture & confuses students on what's going to be on exams. Also, his grading across discussion sections isn't consistent, so you will not know how to do well even if u study hard

No Podcasts mandatory attendance. Never enjoyed lecture because they were slow and boring even though I took it for summer, yet, Id be lying to you if I said he was a bad prof. He cares so much, he understands class difficulty, class struggle and pushes you off bad habits. He is very transparent with what he expects. Excellent 1st choice prof.

Dr. Weizman is such a kind and knowledgable guy. The class is an intimidating class that moves at a fast pace no matter who you take it with, but this professor truly wants to see all of his students succeed. He's generous with time. Go to every lecture/discussion, seek help at office hours, try your best, and don't stress too much over low scores.

Professor Weidmann is a good professor for those who learn by seeing things done step by step instead of explained generally as most professors do. He does all the mechanisms you need to know for the exams in class. Lectures are not focused too much on the conceptual but he really allows you to understand how the mechanisms work and why they occur

Pros: caring, nice, doable midterms, easy hw, he's funny! Cons: the final was much more difficult than midterms; his lecture is really more of a discussion and while some enjoyed it, I didn't; did not provide answer keys after finals were returned OR for the practice midterm! The HW was also much too easy compared to his exams. No weekend exams!

Prof Weizman is a solid ochem prof. His lecture style is unique: he doesn't have slides but rather goes through mechanisms on his iPad that he writes out. During lecture, he'll write a problem and then give a few mins for the class to try and do it, with the TAs walking around to help. Good curve that will save you from the hard exams.

He is a really great professor! I really like his teaching style. He gives a lot of examples and leads us to think in an organic way. Since he doesn't provide slides, attend lectures. The accent would not be a problem after one or two class. Go over the notes and do the practice exam helps a lot with the tests. Discussion also helps a lot. Take him

By far my favorite professor at UCSD by far. Although, I was really hesitant about the class towards the beginning because there is no podcast or lecture notes, his teaching style really worked in my favor. His lectures consist of various examples and group work. Also, his practice exams are the same structure as the actual exams.

He has a thick accent, so it sometimes is hard to understand. But very sweet and approachable, and caring towards students' learning. He doesn't have lecture slides or podcasts, so you have to pay complete attention in class, especially cause it's a very hard class. His exams are slightly more application based than straight from the book.

Weizman is not the best lecturer but he really cares that you understand the material. Tests were fair. STUDY THE LECTURE NOTES!! He will just write a bunch of mechanisms, and you are required to know them all for the exam. He gives practice tests which are very similar to the actual tests. The curve was very generous.

I loved Prof Weizman! He understands the needs of students, and he teaches you accordingly. Had 2 midterms and 1 final. He doesn't post lectures on TED, so you must attend class and copy down notes. He makes you practice problems in class, which is SUPER helpful in learning o chem. Read the book, do problems, and go to discussion. Danielbest TA!

His lectures were disorganized and he has an accent. He did not talk about the fundamental concepts at all and turned the Lectures into discussion sessions while clearly, he is not as good as his TAs. AVOID!

Dr. Weizman is one of the best profs I've ever met in UCSD. I hadn't known ochem can be so much fun and enjoyable until I had his lectures. Everything starts from the fundamentals and continues with logic deduction. He makes ochem a lot more approachable. He cares about his students and is willing to answer all the questions you have. RECOMMEND HIM

He covers everything he expects you to know in lecture. Lectures are just him working through examples which are really helpful. Focuses intensely on mechanisms and really understanding how the product is reached rather than memorization. Great prof for this class!

My favorite chem prof I have taken at UCSD so far. He really cares about his students and emphasizes fundamental concepts versus memorization. Go to office hours and mech clubs and do the hw and go over lecture and you should be prepared. Do not slack off but even if you don't do as well as you hope for, the curve is still good.

Best teacher I've had at UCSD. Clear lecturer and gives problems to do in class. Would definitely recommend taking during any summer section possible. If you attend lectures and discussion you will get at least a B.

He made me enjoy ochem. As long as you go to all the lectures you can expect B in the class. He very clearly states what should be known for the test. He teaches you the good old fashion concepts to understand NO MEMORIZING. i love him.

Weizman has a very practical approach to teaching; he gives students problems during class to do. As long as you do the homework, and understand his notes very well while attending discussion and problem session, you are good to go! Just don't skip lecture. I definitely recommend him for Summer Session if he is offered.
