This is the one Brooklyn College Professor I'm actually impressed with, and trust me that takes a lot. He is extremely intelligent, teaches brilliantly, there is alot of material to cover, but he does a great job of making a hard class interesting. He is a very fair grader and even let us bring a cheat sheet to the midterm! Definately recommend him

Wonderful professor. Do the reading, speak up in class, ask questions, and you'll be fine. If you have prior knowledge of classics, you'll breeze through. He allows you to bring a one-page outline to the midterm and final, which are basically just long essays. He's really passionate about the subject, and it really shows.

Good professor. Explains the material very well (always goes over it). He even explains things that are hidden within the text so it makes you understand the book even better. Highly recommended.

Hands-down one of the best and most devoted instructors in CUNY, or anywhere. If you have any interest in Homer or the literature of Greek antiquity it will increase tenfold after one of his lectures. (And it is not only unwise but an insult to his expertise not to study for his courses.)

The Homer and Heroism course was interesting, but we only did Homer's poems(Iliad etc He gives quizzes, demands participation, and has a midterm, final, and several papers. The exams are all essay based and are easy if you do the reading and come prepared.

Prof. Hardy Hansen is the man! He is cool, a brilliant Hellenist, and mild mannered scholar. He is one of the friendliest instructors I have ever had at BC. I recommend Prof. Hansen for any course.
