Comment:
Dr. Collins-Sibley is not a terrible Person . However, I felt as if she forgot we carried a full course load as she wanted us to dedicate our lives to her assignments. You will read at least 30 pages for every class and you will read every book listed on the syllabus but if you are up for an intense challenge you will find meaning in the work.

Extremely helpful but expects way too much. Always willing to meet outside of class but expect to have well over a hundred pages of reading a night. She normally includes 12-17 books on her list and yes, she expects you to reach each and every page. This is for her upper level (300 and 400 level classes). I took American Lit with her.

Awful professor. Has no intentions of caring whether her students are learning from her or not. Extremely closed-minded, what she says goes and all of your ideas and notions are completely wrong. Avoid taking her at all costs.

This class was pointless. Unless, you are interested in reading thirteen novels in one semester and creating your own redition of a classic text, I highly recomment not taking this class.

Very difficult, and not very open minded. Unwillingness to answer questions. Treats students like children at times. As questions, and if your wrong your wrong and never answers the question. Very obvious on her stand points on issues and if you don't agree your wrong. Very narrow minded. Avoid if at all possible.

Acts very superior to students, especially intellectually...does not understand how to teach effectively and thus students tend to tune her out. Avoid if possible.

This class was a complete waste of time. The only days that were worth-while, were the days when we had projects due. Otherwise, I felt like I learneed absolutely nothing.

I have never felt more insulted by a teacher in my life. She is a self centered egotistical raciest. If your an African American student TAKE THIS TEACHER she'll give you an A just for being in college but if your not expect your papers to be graded on a differant curve, expect your critics to be held to a higher standard and tests... good luck!!

Intellectually snobby. Knows her stuff but it's hard to relate when she just throws quotes and meaningless references at you. I had no clue what she was talking about, and it got to the point where I didn't care either.

I've taken SEVERAL courses with her over my tenure at Mount, and she's my favorite prof. She's long winded, but knows her stuff. Course material is tough, although you get a lot out of her class. EMERSON ROCKS!
