Comment:

Harry is one of the best finance professors that MSU has to offer hands down. He truly cares about his students and getting them out into the real world working good jobs. Will be sad to see him go.

Comment:

Granted his lectures are all over the place and you literally have to write down everything he says, the class isn't too bad. I just studied the night before and expect to get an A in the class. If you pay attention and do the practice problems, you'll for sure pass, plus there is a strong curve.

1) he tells you to pay attentions because he thinks people who do worst on tests/quizzes because they don't have the IQ to pay attention multiple times a week/day. 2) read the handouts and/or textbook and do the homework if you want to pass. 3) he curves but it's a confusing curve. I have a 54% which apparently puts me in the 'C' range.

There are a couple of midterms, at least 1 twenty-something points quiz, weekly homework and a final. You need to study the vocabularies and the math for the midterms and the final, otherwise you will struggle. Tend to rant about the economy of the world more than teaching his lecture.

He is not very clear on what your grade is during the class, as he keeps scores on a word doc. Material isn't very hard, you get a cheat sheet for exams. As long as you do all the assignments and show up you basically guaranteed a C. He talks about the stock market all the time.

If you don't show up to class, read text, and do homework you wont pass. Every point matters in this class and demanding if you want to pass. He really cares if your learning and is available to ask questions. His lectures are sometimes hard to understand so come prepared and it will all make sense.

Paying attention in class is not difficult because he spends half of his time telling you that you will fail the class and as a person if you don't write every bit of information down. He spends the other half of class telling you that the material is for 6th graders. the hardest class I have taken. I need it for major, so I will be retaking it.

This professor was without a doubt the WORST professor I've ever had in my life. He spends more time condescending to students, complaining about millennials, and repeating over & over again how easy his difficult subject matter is than ACTUALLY teaching anything. If you are a low income or disabled student you will particularly hate him.

Thiewes is by far one of my favorite professors on campus. His lectures are example based and do not follow a specific powerpoint. He is more than willing to rework a problem for extra clarity. Expect in class "pop quizzes" which are almost always on the exam. Exams are EASY if you READ the book and rework his quizzes! Loved this class!

Teacher is very mean, thinks he's smarter than everyone else, talks down to students, make a ton of mistakes on the board, isn't clear when he talks or write on the board. He is condescending and makes the class unbearable to sit through. He does not like to be corrected. He threatens students with their grades. He is unorganized and goes too fast.

One of the most painful professors I had in MSU. He goes through the materials really fast and hopes everyone to know everything. He is a total jerk. Thinks that he is the smartest man alive. He always demotivates students by telling them over and over again that they wont get a job after they graduate. I didn't learn anything from his class.

This class is very hard. However, if you put in the time and effort there is no reason you can't pass. He comes off as very intimidating and a jerk, but really he just cares about you learning. A lot of people don't like him, but I don't mind him because I actually learned a lot in his class. I would not skip class! If you do you will regret it

Great teacher! He's hard on you the first month of class to weed out the slackers. I learned a lot about institutions and markets. Go to class as the tests are all from the notes. Pay attention and stay off your laptop and you will get a good grade. Really nice guy if you go and talk to him!! He also really knows what he's talking about!

The material for the course is fairly difficult. However, if you go to class and take good notes the tests and quizzes are that difficult. He is very straight forward with what he expects of you. Allows you to use notesheet on the exams. He is VERY helpful if you go to him with questions outside of class time! Definately recommend him!

Class is very difficult. Prof is hard to follow along with but if you ask questions and go to his office he is super nice. Just hang in there, its not as hard as you'd think. He gives you all info needed for quizzes and exams. Most quizzes are as group and he curves decent.

Material is very challenging, he knows it's hard and has a big curve! Just try your best and come to class everyday, ask questions and you'll survive. He's very understanding and helpful, tests come right off of the notes.
