If you like getting good grades, clear grading, being respected, good lectures or good lecture notes and dislike being the center of someone else's personal trash TV drama which the professor tries to enforce hard to overcompensate for something then I might potentially maybe want to stay away from him.

I thought Hashemi was a good professor overall, I just wish his grading system was a bit more clear as to where you were in the class. The positive to this class is that attendance was 30% of your grade, so just make sure you show up to class every session, and you have 100% in that category. The class can be a bit stressful, but overall not bad.

This guy sucks. Grading is ambiguous, you wont know your grade unless you ask and even then he never clearly states why you got what you got. Attendance is 35% of your grade and he just reads from the powerpoints. HATES clarifying any questions you have, always gives attitude. Only positive was open book/notes tests. Not worth it though.

Comment:

Hashemi is a good professor but his progress checks can be challenging at times. You can easily pass this class as long as you put the time and effort into it. Having these quizzes almost every class requires that you study the material every day. If you struggle with chapters 1-6, 7 is where it really starts to increase in difficulty.

One of the worst professors I've ever had, impossible grader, if you don't get a quiz question right, you lost majority of the points, quizzes are worth all of your grade. He is rude in office hours and doesn't actually help, just tells you to 'study' and to 'pay more attention'. No help at all. I understood the content, but just impossible grader.

Going into this professors class which is 90% quizzes weighted, I thought it would be good. Guess again, his quizzes are absolutely difficult, and he is the toughest grader I've ever had. One simple error in the quiz and I'd lose 5/10 points. Each quiz is practically 4.5%. HIGHLY recommend to try someone else. Half the class failed. no curves!

He's a very good teacher but his expectations of the student are painfully unrealistic. Quiz every class. Sometimes you are quizzed on things that have just been introduced in the same class period. Minimal partial credit. More than half the class dropped by the end of the semester. Extremely difficult to get an A.

This class has been one of the most stressful classes I've ever taken. Quiz every class so you have to study no matter what. If you do bad in one quiz it will bring your grade down 3%. He does drop 3 quizzes at the end and it helps your grade a lot. He is an amazing professor and you will understand everything but the quizzes get tricky.

Ask a question you already know the answer to and be entertained by how convoluted answr is. His test grading is a joke. I put my impedance answers in polar form and his answer key was in rect form and he marked half my test wrong w/out checking. After last day of class he sets an auto response on his email so can't ask him to justify low grades.

Good teachers are hard to come by now a days. If you are not ready to work you will not pass, but if you are he is one of the best engineering teachers here. He knows his stuff and he will help you as much as he can through email and office hours, albeit he is a little intimidating. A tough grader but it accurately reflects your performance.

If you take him for EE203 make sure it isn't the new "progess check" style grading. It is terrible. His class would be fine if it had normal grading with tests. Lately he has been using class quizzes that are your entire grade.

It was my 1st sem and has experience with this professor, Very good at study, specially he knows very well how to teach, clear examples and maths method,If you pay attention you will passed with good grades for sure. Logic asked in exam is high, You have to beat the logic only rest are very easy. If you not pay attention dont expect good grades.

Dr. Hashemi lectures directly from the textbook, which consists mainly of derivations of equations that you'll use on exams. Open booknotelaptop midterm and final. Homework can be challenging, but not mandatory. Take advantage of his office hours. The project isn't difficult, but be sure to type EVERYTHING, including equations and diagrams.

So Boring!!! Death by Power Point is so right. It is hard to stay awake in his class but you better attend every one cause it counts for 30% of your grade. A lot of the time your just watching random videos. Silver Lining his tests are open book and notes. Well for this class anyways.

always 15 to 20 mins late, even on final day! very disrespectful to students' time. tests were multi. choice problems only, have to show work but no partial credit given if answer is wrong. he only spent 10 to 30 mins per session to teach. seems not interested in teaching at all . i pretty learn everything on my own. i suggest to avoid him
