Certified legend in the NJIT ME department. I, along with many of my friends, was truly sad when I heard he was retiring and I wouldn't be able to take another class with him. Need I say more.

What an awesome teacher. Very straight forward. Allows you to bring your own EQ sheets for exams (with example problems). He splits the midterm and final across 2 separate days to make it less stressful for you. Reads from his own Power Points for lecture, but they are filled with enough information to not have to read the book. HW due every class

Comment:

Really good professor who cares about your success. Exams were open book and he tells you what to study so you are fully prepared for them. I took it over the summer and we had a lot of hw but I'm sure it's more spread out over fall and spring. It was still manageable. He teaches very well and is definitely worth taking.

As long as he sees that you try and actually put in effort towards the class you'll be fine. Since he teaches CAD classes, the exams are more of a formality and he weighs in more heavily on classwork, projects, and basically just showing up to class. Herli is a very understanding professor and as long as he sees the effort you put in Good grade

Extremely nice and funny guy. The material is so easy to learn if you listen to him and follow him while he does examples. He does a lot of examples. I don't understand how some kids at the end of the semester could not do basic problems we learned in the first couple weeks. Don't be like them and it'll be easy

Great professor. He goes through the notes at a fast pace but will always stop and explain if you need it. Class consists of homework once a week where you need the textbook, a midterm and a non-cumulative final. Also, you get to make a formula sheet for tests. Really funny guy and would definitely take again.

Herli is a shining beacon of joy in an otherwise lifeless school. Herli is the light at the end of the tunnel, Herli is the wind beneath my wings. I couldn't pay for the quality of entertainment this guy provides on a weekly basis. He assigns a lot of work but his lectures are always entertaining and educational. You will learn a lot in his class.

I took him fall 2014. i would say he was alright and fair grader. Every single class u have to submit 2-3 assignments . there r like 30 assignments, 1 project and 2 exams.

Herli is one of the best professors at this school. He genuinely cares for all his students and for what he does. He really wants everyone to do well. Very helpful, easy-going, and overall an awesome guy. Definitely don't pass him up. He is the CAD MASTER!

compared to other profs in njit, he cares for students and real teach! however, he fails to explain the materials well... tests are tough but he curves alot... just an easy course but you need to remember something for higher level!

Easy class, but its so easy that everyone does well so the curve can hurt you. He grades homework and tests very hard and takes off a lot of points for small mistakes. Hes a nice guy, but he doesn't teach Kinematics well.

Herli is awesome. He puts a lot of time into his presentations for all of his classes, and actually knows what he's talking about. Study for the exams, they're tricky. The information on the PPTs has very little to do with the class. Take him, he's one of the few I'd recommend.
