I did the most work for this class yet learned the least. It's repetitive of other classes (Freud and classical conditioning again?) and a lot of the info can be found on Google (salaries; differences between a psychiatrist & psychologist). I would've enjoyed it had different things been emphasized. Exams are tricky, but with a lot of studying and work, an A can be pulled off.

I really liked this class. The content wasn't exactly fun and interesting, but I think he really made me learn. He really knew how to explain things so that you would remember it. His tests were very fair. If u go to class and listen to his lecture, you should definitely do well in his class

GREAT professor! I learned so much and highly reccomend the course. Tests are fair and assignments are good. I thought he was really interesting, and that is saying a lot considering the class was at 8am!

His 2 hours class gets boring some times if not most of the time, but if you stick with it and pring out the notes from blackboard and follow along throughout the book, the homework he assigns should be easy. Don't get caught slacking off with studying for this class because the way he tests is rather difficult.

Dr. Owens is a great professor! If you go to class and take good notes, you can ace the exams w/o reading the book. He brings in a lot of examples and outside information - lectures are interesting, cover a wide range of topics, and makes you optimistic about getting older. He's always willing to meet with you to answer questions or go over exams. I recommend this professor and this class.

really enjoyed the class. dr owens is very straight forward, no surprises at all. very interesting class and i would definitely suggest taking it with him. going to class is a must and i never looked at the book.

The guys is straight on. He gives you all the notes. If you come to his class and follow along you should be able to pull a good grade. He definately knows his stuff, and he tells you exactly what you need to know, you really don't need the book.

No compassion or empathy with the students whatsoever. Psychology is an absolutely clinical thing to him. Also, a personal run-in with him convinced me of the inappropriateness of his character.

One of the coldest, most egotistical human beings I've ever met. He's organized--I'll give him that. But it chills my heart to know that a psyche like his is explaining and analyzing the vicissitudes of human consciousness.

Awesome teacher - makes the subject he's teaching very interesting. HIGHLY recommended. Attendance is critical in passing the class because a lot of his questions on mid-terms and final come from them. Lectures are interesting, so it wont be too hard to find yourself wanting to go to class. take it.

If you take his abnormal psych class make sure you study everything! The lectures were informative and easy to follow but the tests were definetly hard.
