Comment:

Fukurai is an incredibly knowledgable professor. His lectures are straight-forward and somewhat boring, though he has his moments of hilarity. Go to class, do the work, and you'll get an A. Study guides are long and tedious, but useful. Readings are somewhat optional, you'll get the most of the class if you read though.

He's a very interesting guy. His lectures are interesting; however, his teaching style isn't interactive so you may get bored. Makes you do all your work in groups, which can either be good or bad. Midterm and final are super tricky. Study, read, look over notes, and link up with class mates. Tests are hard!!

One of the best at UCSC, he really cares about the students and is very passionate in what he teaches. He assigns a decent amount of readings but goes over them in his lectures. Put in the effort and you will earn an A. I wish ucsc had more faculty like him. The best !

Highly recommended, tons of extra credit and interesting material. Awesome lecturer! 1 midterm, 1 final, 1 concept paper and 1 final paper (15 pages) only thing I didn't like about the class was the required team work ( you have to partner up for all class work).

Professor Fukurai is a very knowledgeable person. He is nice and willing to help all the students. He likes that all students participate during his lectures. Do the Reading, tricky questions midterms and final. He gives a lot of extra credit during the course, use them all. One midterm 25 questions and one final 25 questions. 10 P final paper

By far the best teacher I've ever had. He is an amazing mentor and the students of UCSC are lucky to have him. I couldn't have wished for a more amazing Professor to teach and mentor me during my time at UCSC!

Professor Fukurai is passionate about what he teaches, it's hard not to become inspired by his lectures. I took Race and Law, he wrote one of our text books and I found it really interesting. Two tests, not cumulative, two papers, one is 3 pages MAX. I read and did all assignments, but really enjoyed the course and its material.

He really cares about his students. He takes math and makes it relateable. I rated this class as easy, not because it's so easy that you don't have to try, but because there is ample help available, the assignments are manageable, and the tests are fair. It was a pleasure to be in this class and it reconciled some of my previous hate for math.

I loved this class! Prof Fukurai was extremely helpful, and the info was really clear and interesting. There were 2 midterms, a presentation, and a 15 pg paper, all of which were clear and easy to do. There was (technically) a lot of reading, but you can definitely get by w/o doing it... I got an A and only did half!

He was a really cute, sweet man and he made a HUGE effort to help students with stuff. I never bought the textbook and still managed an A. And there was only a presentation and 15 page paper for a final, which was nice -- no tests. He does take roll every day, though, but I missed at least 4 classes and stil did fine. Great Professor!
