Very tough course. Learned the material and the approach. Got an A in English1, so I signed up for him again. First day of class in English2, he stops and looks at me... says "no one EVER takes me twice". Got an A in that class, too.

Tried not to take his course. Was moved into it first day (summer session). Made a"C". Took him again for FE2, "B". Transferred. Graduated USF with 2 honors. Very tough course. He is arrogant and oft demeaning. You'll take it with you if you work at it. Lazy people need no apply; I tried not to the first time. So glad I took him twice.

Proposes a very conventional writing style. Class discussions are trite and unilateral; he does not desire much student input. Discouraging, smug, and an hidebound. Encourages old-fashioned writing styles and formalism. Not for those who crave creativity.

Comment:

He taught at a Community College and quite frankly he needed to be at a higher education university. Most students who have rated him were not ready for the challenge of his course or even prepared to work hard and earn a good grade. Yes he easily is one of the hardest teachers anyone will have, but you can pass the class if you put in the time!

I took MISTER Pascal's class quite a few years ago and he started his classes with "Most of you will fail this class." I refuse to acknowledge him as professor as I don't feel that he deserves the title. His arrogant and demeaning nature is a diservice to first year students who do want an education and someone who relishes giving F's has issues.

Comment:

Dr. Pashal is a great teacher. However, only those students who desire to succeed in life and put forth the effort will appreciate him. Many people don't like him because he is very straightforward and strict. Students looking for the easy, lazy way out should not take his class. He is always willing to help you succeed if you're really willing to.

I got up and walked out of the class to go straight to the student services building to drop it! He told a girl, on the 3rd day of class (in front of everyone) that he would expect more from a kindergartner than what she submitted!!! I was offended for her. If you have this professor...I'll pray for you, you'll need it.

Do not allow this teacher to discourage you in your educational journey. He gets a kick out of students that drop his class. Learning is fun and so is college! When he says "welcome to college" in a demeaning way and he will at least 30 times in the semester, say "thanks I am excited to be here." Do not take him if you have the choice.

This professor is NOT a nice person. He needs to take an Ethics class and learn how not to reduce people to something less than human. He told us that his sister sent him a letter after so many years of contact with him and he sent it back...corrected. Seriously! He is brillant though; write a book and make it mandatory so you profit. R-U-N!!!!!!!!

He was my first college professor. I withdrew form his class afetr spending 10 hrs on a paper (which by the way, was reviewed by the writing center) and I still got an F!!! He is not a good teacher for first year students. He is very discouraging.

He was my first prof. in college. Needless to say I was scared crazy! BUT, I put the effort into the class, and even two years later, I still find myself going back to old papers I wrote for him to help me with my current papers. He is tough, but FAIR - u have to work for it though.
