I took her American Lit post civil war class as a freshman this past semester having previously taken two AP English classes(the equivalent of two composition and one American literature class) and felt more than prepared. We had daily reading notes but most of the readings were short. She lets you revise essays and grades fairly. Great experience!

Dr. Rogers was an amazing English professor. Very helpful and understanding always willing to work. Genuinely cares about her students. My name is kinda hard but she made sure to say it right and even now when I see her in the hallways shes sweet. I would recommend everyone to take her class. I hate that I was late to enroll in her 1158 class :/

Not very clear on intentions and can leave you hanging when you ask a question. Other than that she was a nice lady and very well respected.

I have no sympathy for the student who fails Dr Roger's courses. I have never had a professor who was so willing to work with her students, giving them extreme leeway on assignments (You can revise any paper!) and expansive constructive criticism on every single document you turn in to her. If you actually care about the course, you will love her.

Dr. Roger is one of the best in the Liberal Arts Department at UNO! She wants real effort in your turned-in papers, but is always there for help - and always accepts rough drafts. I cannot wait to one day take her again!

Very kind lady and professor. She expects much out of her students, but she is more than willing to help. Participate, complete the reading notes, and you will succeed in this class.

Lots of homework and it adds up to be a big portion of your grade. If you don't participate you will see your grade go down. You only have 2 papers but she is a tough grader and you can revise it but you will be revising a lot. She wants you to be EXTREMELY specific on her midterm and final. Its do able but not easy.

Dr. Roger is an amazing professor! She gives great feedback on papers and often lets you revise them if needed. It is obvious that she really wants her students to learn and succeed. Class discussions are open to all interpretations of the texts making it a very comfortable enviornment. Take this professor!!!

Mrs. Roger was an excellent teacher. I have always been scared of English classes but she made it easy. We only did 3 major papers compared to other classes I heard did up to 7. Show up to class, do the reading assignments and participate(10% of grade). She lets you revise your papers so you never feel trapped. Take her if you can!

Love, Love, Love Dr. Roger! So kind, helpful and interested. She's a cliché English teacher, quiet and smart. She lets your revise papers, and is absolutely willing to help you every step of the way. I seriously cannot say how much I like Dr. Roger as a teacher as well as a person. Such a sweet lady.

I'd recommend her to anyone. She's really in to the material she teaches, and she's really sweet. She gives reading notes almost every class, but they're a really easy way to boost your grade. She allows revisions on both papers, and both tests are open book. It's definitely no cake walk (I got a B), but I loved her class!

I took her American Lit class and enjoyed it even though I'm not interested in the subject. She is knowledgeable and helpful, and a fair grader. I got C's and B's on my first essay drafts, but was able to revise them and get A's. Keep up with her little reading assignments because they do add up and can really boost your grade.

There is a lot of reading required with daily reading notes to turn in. They are an easy way to get a good grade though. And there are only two papers, and both require reading a scholarly article or two. The grading is a little bit sticky, but she lets you do revisions.

Can be a bit dry and wooden but overall an effective instructor. Has in-depth discussions with the class on assigned readings. Always handing in reading notes can be a bit of a chore but is easy. Can be somewhat harsh on the papers. Just kow what she's looking for and it's easy to pass this class.

I dread English classes and I made an A. The homework, usually a page or so discussing the reading(s), makes up a good portion of the grades, so that?s an easy A. You only have 2 papers and the revisions are very helpful. There is also a presentation based on one of your essays on a story of your choice from the syllabus. Really nice, good teacher

With revisions on every paper (there are only 2), it is only your fault if you don't get the grade you want. There is a lot of reading, but I enjoyed most of it and she does a good job getting the class to participate. While the revisions are nice, she is a really tough grader, esp. on your first drafts. Overall, extremely nice and I recommend her!

Very helpful teacher. Allows you to revise papers all semester long and will even give you tips while you are working on your paper. Easy to communicate with. Just read the readings(not very many), take advantage of her revision policy, and you'll make an A.
