Comment:
I had to take her for three classes. All were awful. There are several, overly long readings, lectures really do not prepare you for quizzes - she even said herself that you can't rely on her lectures for studying for quizzes, and her grading is weirdly harsh considering we have no idea what to actually study and focus on.

I This class was NOT an art history class but rather a sociology class/anthropology. I would have never taken this if I knew it was going to be this much reading every single week for homework. The final paper is 12 pages long and the first week of class before you have even learned anything on the topic of prehistory, you chose a final paper topic

Do you love reading scholarly articles about a dead culture that is boring as hell? Well, this is the class/teacher for you. Don't speak your mind, because if you start bad mouthing prehistoric art, she'll grade you accordingly. Doesn't seem to respect the opinions of others- even when you do all the readings. Oh and by the way, there are a ton!!!!

A lot of reading and the tests are super hard but she's fair and does give partial credit a lot of the time and will give you help when you ask for it. She's really smart and funny, just take her class seriously because its no easy A.

Comment:
The test study guides are ridiculous. Way to much information to actually learn, then the tests have 3 questions over the copious amount of info you tried to memorize. The class is interesting and she was funny, but I would not recommend taking the class unless you really enjoy the subject.

Ivana is kind of crazy...but definitely in a good way. She makes class fun and is pretty funny even when she doesn't mean to be. She's really smart and obviously has a lot of experience. LOTS of reading.

Having just declared my anthropology major, I was excited about this class, and by far it is my favorite. Ivana is an amazing teacher, and if you do what she asks of you, pay attention, accept she has an accent and don't knock her for it, you are going to have a great time. I'd recommend her to anyone. You'll learn a lot by being in her company.

Her classes can be difficult- (Pre-history of europe) but she is very smart and very egar to share her knowledge!Be prepared to do the reading and the studying( she does give study guides- and they are usually worse than the test themselves). she does require a paper, but it is done step by step. Just do what she ask and you will do fine.

She is funny & I have heard good things before registering for this course. It is still early in the semester but so far I am not impressed! Make note: the quizes are not open note, even if she tells you they are-I found that out the hard way. It is kind of hard to understand her with her strong accent & she does ramble A Lot! Overall, she's ok.

She is great. Show up for class and read the material...and you will be fine. Amazing archeologist, she isn't an "armchair academic". She has lots of fieldwork experience. Great source of information!

wow get over it some people in this world get accents. and as a personal friend of this professor i can say with confidence that she has read more books (in english, serbian, french) than you will read in your entire life times ten. so keep those essays coming, because i'm sure that someone with a doctoral degree can understand them.

Was supposed to be lithic technology, but we really learned nothing. The syllabus meant nothing - the class didn't follow any structure at all. It was a waste of time.

Once you get past her accent, she is a relatively entertaining lecturer and makes a lot of jokes, some at her own expense. Her quizzes were more than fair and she gives lots of EC. For our term papers, she let us choose a topic rather than assigning one. My only complaint is that test study guides were huge, too much memorization of dates, etc.

Dr. Rad is Rad! She is smart, hilarious, and VERY easy on grading. In this class (mortuary archaeology), if our work was on time, we got extra credit!! She would say "last call for turning in papers..after the deadline, no extra points!" It took awhile to get around her accent, but its fun after awhile. Went down to the wheel on the last day of class, too! Good times.
