Very interesting personality but very likeable. Grades based on midterms and a little on homework. No EC. For us he moved the curve down when the whole class had a higher average than expected, so beware.

Some people complained in the MAT21B class since they were also freshman right out of high school just like me. His homeworks are kinda difficult since his TA picks them out, but he calls them "stupid calculations". But he really brings lightheartedness and energy to the lecture. Tests are really easy

Mulase is a very intelligent man but not a great teacher. he overcomplicates simple problems at times and covers more then needed (being unnecessary and difficult) I received a 70.6% in his class after the final but he decided to curve the grade down failing me and requiring I take it again. you'll struggle if you haven't taken integral calc before

This class was hard material wise, and a lot of the time, he would ramble a lot and make leaps in his explanations. My TA only confused me further. Best thing to do to study is practice exams and the problems he posts on Canvas (which I started doing too late ;_;). Beware of downcurving!! I had a solid C+ after the final but barely passed.

I love Professor Mulase. He is humorous. His lectures tell you the proof and origin of the knowledge as well as the application of the knowldges. These are really something that we need today instead of time-wasting "stupid calculations". You should do some addional practice so that you can get a high score on exams. Exams are really easy!

He's nice as a person but is not a good teacher, his test are simple but will include things that were not mentioned in lecture. He grades based on 2 midterms and one final plus homework. However, homework is not related to what he teaches in class. His lectures were not always clear because he did the problems in his head without showing steps.

Graded by HW, 2 midterms, and a final. He doesn't treat this as a normal MAT21B class! Lectures involve a few simple examples and him talking about random things like not memorizing formulas but putting it into "the neurons in your brain." His words not mine. Don't take this professor if you can't weave through his weirdness that he thinks is funny

2 Midterms and 1 Final. Most people do not do well on them. Homeworks are on webwork, but the problems on there are really difficult, so you'll definitely need to google stuff. The office hours are helpful if you are able to go. Professor covers the difficult problems in homework during the office hours.

3 midterms and a final. both come off homework & lecture examples. The homework really helps compared to the lectures. Highly recommend going to class anyway even though he can confusing sometimes. Generous curve; I received a B+ after getting a 67% in the class. Tries to make class as fun as possible!

His lecture is mostly about proofs, and only a few of example are given. His method of solving problems are hard to understand and impractical. Therefore, going to his lecture only confuses the students further.

Extremely funny human. Tries to put things in a way regular human beings would understand. Does a lot of geometry... Tests are not easy in the slightest.

Motohico always has a smile on his face. He loves to get to know his students and if you go to office hours, he will try to learn your name. He's also hilarious; always cracking jokes in lecture. Very passionate about mathematics. Lectures are sometimes unclear, but the material was challenging for just about everyone. Take him if he's teaching!

I eventually dropped the class due to its difficulty, but I still came to class for a few lectures just to watch him lecture. He's hilarious. The most random teacher you will ever have. He starts writing on the board, then he'll suddenly stop, turn around, and smile. Let's just say you will NOT fall asleep during class.

Mulase is a very funny teacher and I did like him as a person but he is confusing and does proofs every lecture, pretty much no examples whatsoever. The midterms were difficult though similar to the practice ones he put up. The curve saved me!

Mulase is hilarious. I would definiteley take him again. If you put in the effort you can get an A. Just have to read the book and look back at your notes and I think youll be good. Great curve because of such hard tests.

Mulase is a really good professor. Very animated and entertaining. The homeworks help to boost your grade, but the exams are really difficult. A good portion of what will be on them is on the practice exams though. Overall, he's a good professor but I wouldn't take him unless you really love math and aren't just filling a requirement.

Hard. Like really hard. Curve is a standard bell curve. Webworks is pointless since it won't really boost your grade since everyone will get an A on that. The midterms were like 50% similar to the practice ones which is good since the average on the midterms and finals were 50%-60%. Study the practice exams and you'll pass. P.S This guy is a beast.
