Very kind and really cares that everyone succeeds. Can sometimes go on a few rabbit trails but it makes every class interesting to warm up to philosophy homework. The homework is not really that hard either.

He tells a lot of stories but he is so nice. Randomly calls on students to put answers on the board.

Mr. Haas is really awesome, he's super caring about the material and willing to help students learn. Symbolic logic itself is a little hard to understand and he will do everything in his ability to make it easy to learn. Super nice!

Comment:
Mr. Haas is a genuine and down-to-earth professor who usually gets off on tangents in philosophy, but they are not meaningless and more often than not relate to the topic. Speaking of which, it is a discussion heavy course, so force yourself to read the material anyway. Is very clear with his grading criteria, which is great.

I took symbolic logic with Haas, and I would take it again in a heartbeat. Super easy way to get math credits, and the logic homework was even fun at times. He tends to go on tangents, so sometimes class can get a little boring. Other than that he was amazing

I took Prof. Haas for symbolic logic and liked him so much that I took his intro to ethics class too. He is genuine person who is interested in your success. The comments about him getting off topic are true, but there's usually a funny story that occurs during one of those tangents. I would highly recommend him. He's a great guy and a professor.

Comment:
Professor Haas is a great laid back professor. His PHIL 100 class consisted mainly of reading and story and discussing it in class. All of his classes were very discussion based. He gives you a study guide to help you with the midterm and final. As long as you complete and read the study guide you will pass the two exams. Beware: Group project

Prof is very pleasant. Very knowledgeable and you will learn a lot from his class. He goes off topic very easily, sometimes annoyingly when you want to get through the lecture. You will not stay on track with the syllabus. Still, great class and professor. Would take again and recommend.

Professor Haas is a Christian, and you must keep that in mind while he talks about different religions. He is a great Professor, but he cannot keep the syllabus. If he says he will get through the book of Mark in 2 week, give him a month or two. His final isn't too hard, you just need to study from the notes HE give you. No notes in class.

Professor Haas is a love him or hate him teacher. If you enjoy lectures with NO supplemental material (powerpoints, visuals, etc) then you should enjoy the class. He gives study guides the week before tests that have all the information needed on them, but they are extremely long (10-15 pages). He is definetely biased towards Christianity and will tell you all of his beliefs in an obnoxious, entitled format. As a student who doesnt identify with a religion, I find this annoying but thats just me

Prof Haas was great for Hebrew Bible!! Really knows his stuff and made me interested in learing more about the Bible. He's always a few minutes late to class but it gave the students time to get to know each other. To pass his class study the STUDY GUIDE he gives you (so are long) but the whole test comes from it. Easy once I did it that way.

Goes in depth with his topics, and sometimes distracts himself for several minutes with off-topic banter. Because of this, we only got to about 75% of the topics in the syllabus. But he is brilliant and his knowledge of religion is paramount. Tests aren't difficult if you show up to class and pay attention. His exam study guides are very useful.

The class wasn't too bad! My grade wasn't as high as what it could have been, but that was not his fault. His study guides were exactly, exactly, what was on the test, but he gives small books that must be read! if you do that, you will be fine! He's very nice!

Easy class. I was somewhat disappointed that I didn't get much out of it. We moved very slowly through the material. I understand some students couldn't cut it if we moved any faster but those students shouldn't be in college. I received an A, and as a person he is kind, considerate, and a little quirky.
