Van Hoomissen is an amazing professor, she cares about her students and makes the lectures interesting. The best thing about her is that if you don't get to the material she has planned she will not shove it all in right before the test. I would highly recommend her class and would definitely take it again.

Incredible person and teacher. Had her for lab, she made the class easy to sit through and very fun. Harder lab teacher then the others but i would really encourage people to take her. Go to open lab often and you will get an A

Wonderful woman, and a great teacher. Makes sure you know what you need to know before you leave her classroom. If you need help, ask her. The class is hard, but definitely not because of her. The way that the tests and quizzes are set up just make it a stressful class.

Easy A if you study often. Memorize the charts and always study the clinical components of the lecture. Likes to rely on i-pad software that is more confusing than anything else. I would take her again.

I had her for Anatomy lab and she was helpful enough. Just kind of ran through the material and listed things off. Nothing special that made her really stand out or class interesting but I didn't dislike her either.

Prof is great! Goes off powerpoints and draws extra things on the projector to clarify concepts. I took notes on everything she said onto the powerpoint on my computer...then studied that and got really high A's easily on tests. Just memorize all the things she says in class, don't worry about the extra stuff in the textbook she didn't go over.

This class is very demanding and is based purely off of the textbook, however herlectures clarify concepts. Very nice and energetic professor and gives extra credit opportunities. She loves the subject, which makes it all the more interesting. Make sure to start your study guides as soon as possible...they take lots of time!

Van Hoomi is great! The class is definitely demanding but as long as you read the chapters, go to class, and spend hours studying, its possible to get an A. She is very helpful and approachable. Also she tends to give at least one extra credit opportunity which can be helpful. Overall great prof!

Dr. V has good powerpoints, but her exam material comes mainly from the text. Exams were very difficult esspecially the brain exam. Don't take her if you can help it.

Excellent Prof. Helpful and easy to approach. Examss based on both lecture and text, its important to read book and attend class. Sometimes talk too fast and/or spend too little time on something that is pretty complicated. Overall good professor, relatively easy B, have to work pretty hard for A.

Excellent teacher. Makes class interesting. Her examples make the subject make sense. I would take her if you get the chance. She's the best teacher I've had at UP.

Great lecturer, very organized in doing powerpoint and writing on the overhead. I would recommend writing out notes instead of just going off slides. Not too helpful in office hours, over your head. You really have to put in the time... don't rely on the lecture.

I did not prefer Dr. V's teaching style. I thought she moved way too slowly. It was a shame to have to skip lymphatics and reproduction (which are subjects that always seem to get skipped). I thought that these would be covered in Anatomy for sure. Just like physiology I feel the course was dilluted to accomodate the whining majority. This course is a must take for anyone taking the MCAT. Also it is a good reveiw for the MUCH more detailed Anatomy you will get in Medical School.

Van Hoomissen was a really good teacher and relates the subject really well to actual situations and stuff. Can be challenging, but is really clear and really helpful. I recommend her for any class, especially anatomy.

Van Hoomissen is a great prof. By no means is she easy, but she's almost always available for help and is quite clear about what should be known for the test without completely laying it out for the class.

She was very helpful with questions but demanded a lot on tests. Her best quote is "know what is in the book". She will do her best to answer questions, but often the material is covered too fast and with less than crystal clarity

I had her for Anatomy lecture. She may be very friendly and helpful, but she expects far too much on exams. I feel with her it's best summed up as quantity over quality.
