The best prof there is! If you ACTUALLY put in the EFFORT in class, then you will succeed in class. Sure, his questions are a bit challenging for a beginner course but at the same time, Mr. Deng is giving you an insight into what it takes to be a programmer. To see the result you want, YOU have to engage in it. And Deng will do his best to help you

He is very strict with is work and makes it very difficult to achieve good grades. His Teacher's assistant is worst than him. Both do not have any communication due to which we loose marks.

He is one of the worst professors I have ever had. I basically learned everything on my own as he barely explains things. He calls students out for petty reasons like someone leaving 10 minutes early. Half of my class got an F and the other 49% got a D. I would avoid him if you can.

Really hard to understand the lectures. He makes lectures very difficult to understand. He also assumes that everyone in his class came directly from High School. Final exam covers the entire semester lectures with very few multiple choice questions. In midterms one of the ques was "Which browser did I use in class" HOW IS THAT REALTED TO WEB DEV ?

Its really hard to understand him. He assumes no one is getting the material and goes off on a 10 min lecture about how he's not your parent, and the differences between high school and uni, almost everyday. explains easy class concepts with complicated examples. Dont take this course with him.

Comment:
40% of class got an F and another 35% got D or C. Expects too much for a first-year course. This class has a project that is worth way too much and instructions are not clear and very vague. No marking criteria were given, but when the marks were released they were split into different sections which would have helped do the project. UNORGANIZED!

He's too quiet. I couldn't understand 50% what he was saying. Sure, he has an accent, I understand that but I would like it if he was loud especially when the class was @6pm-9pm. Took him for intro to programming. Boring and easy class if u already know the basics and just want the credit.

He gave a question in the first mid "what browser did we use to run our example code in the class?". Come on man. I don't care. And how is such question related to web design or development I have no idea.

If you want to learn web design and development, then take an online course which costs 20-30$. I swear you'll learn better than you will learn in this course if taught by this prof. Comes with some slides which has a deep blue background and black/white text on it. Prof doesn't seem to have any idea about web development. Worthless.

Comment:
His class is very boring, basically he just reads power points. The tests are the worst, because you don't know what he wants, very subjective. Final worth is 50% and mid term 25% so all the labs that are 10 worth just 10 % what is really unfair. And if you go to his office hours he does not explain too much.

Heavy accent, absolutely confusing and hard to understand. All he does is read from the powerpoint. He goes into irrelevant materials for the course. Makes stupid test, subjective questions. Very broad in terms of codes. STUPID, STUPID assignment grading. 2 assignments worth 3% each, the 3rd assignment is project size but still only worth 3%.
