Comment:

Reads from his notes the whole time, extremely boring lectures. However, if you have the strength to pay attention to them, the exams are very easy. Shows some awesome movies and genuinely wants students to do well in the class.

nothings posted. reads from paper the whole time, tells some personal stories to mix it up. some was interesting, but overall boring lecture. awesome guy though. the review sheets outline the exam so study that and easy a. no homework. some movie sheets that weigh 2 points super easy to do. sometimes surprise movie so just go to class.

Paul Siegel loves to talk a lot for one! For two get ready to just sit and not interact with the professor. Be careful of your laptops and phones he will stop class just to call you out. Note taking will not help you pass so make sure to ask for review sheets of the material to ensure you do well on exams. He'll drop your lowest test score!

Took this class thinking itd be easy, I hated it, we al hated it.. He reads directly off a piece of paper for the entire class its agonizing. Hes condescending half the time and border line disrespectful. This class isnt by any means hard but if you dont show up to class you wont do well. I would never take his class again. My advice, avoid

Completely not a good professor. Rarely uses slides, usually just reads from textbook for the whole class. Goes very fast and does not allow laptops in class so its very difficult to take notes. Basically all he does is ramble and you don't know if something is important or not. He gives review sheets for the tests but they aren't even helpful.

Literally so easy. It was on natural disasters. Mainly lecture based, but if you just show up to class, get all the notes, read them once before each test, you're guaranteed an A.

Class was natural disasters. His lectures are long and extremely boring. He doesn't allow any electronic devices of any sort and will call you out for using them. With that being said, the class is EXTREMELY easy, he shows a lot of movies and offers great test review sheets. Left class early most days and drops the lowest test grade.

This class was VERY EASY but VERY BORING! All he does is read off a textbook for the full 80 minutes of class. You have to take good notes. If you do then you will do well on the two midterms and then you are done with the class. The final is optional so after the second midterm I did not go to class. Online homework, just write whatever.

Comment:

Professor Siegel is a one-of-a-kind. He made my semester a lot easier with his class. His lectures may be a bit stretched, but the information that he gives out is really interesting. I personally never went to office hours -- I have gone to every class, took intricate notes, watched every movie in class, and got a good grade. Definitely recommend.

3 tests - MC, T/F and fill-in. verbatim what he says in class and sort of goes over it before the tests. interesting stuff but he talks a mile a minute and you have to hand write your notes. very easy class, last test is optional but your hand is going to hurt and it's hard to keep up with his lecture. dont skip the movies in class too

nice guy. funny. gives some good lectures, some dry(how many days can you spend talking about wildfires, apparently 4 or so). easy easy tests. got near perfect scores on each. took a total of about 30 pages of notes for the year. no excuse not to get an A if you have any attention span. I spend half the classes daydreaming. Took attendance twice.

As much as the comments below are true about how easy it is to get an A, just keep in mind that he does not post lecture notes anymore...and talks fast so U MUST TAKE VERY GOOD NOTES otherwise U WONT GET AN A. HE IS NICE AND HELPFUL IF U GO TO HIS OFFICE HRS. EITHER WAY IT IS NOT AS EASY AS IT USE TO BE, before i took it, he post notes,now no notes

This class is a piece of cake. Easy A if you go to EVERY class and take descent notes. Three exams, if you do really well on the 1st two and have an A average, u don't have to take the final, however, if u have to take the final, he gives you some of the questions and answers that are EXACTLY on the final..very hard to fail the class. He was good.

Comment:

This guy is great, funny, and down to earth. He definatly has a great personality and likes to teach. Loved the topic, and loved the films he showed. HOWEVER, with that said, he talks too fast and is hard to take notes at his pace. Also, tests are easy buy if you get more lower than 90% you cant possible get an A. He needs to grade better IMO
