Worst professor ive had at city. Lectures are long, boring, he is very strict. Doesn't like people talking, eating, on the phone. Online web assignments do NOT help your grade and they take long to complete. He gave 4 midterms and one final exam. Difficult with multiple choice, t/f and essays on each one. DO NOT TAKE HIM ! find another professor

He's not a bad teacher, he just teaches a boring and difficult subject. His exam questions are mostly from the main textbook. His essay questions on the exams are pretty heavy. Best advice: read all the books (do the quizzes that go along with it), pay attention in lecture, and email him for help (he's actually pretty nice).

If there aren't any other professors with open seats in their class, wait until next semester and try again. I'm normally an A/B student but even with studying notes from every class, I did not pass. Everything I learned about Political Science that semester was from going to all of the tutor sessions where I learned what I should've from lecture.

You receive the grade you earn. If youre a lazy student youll receive a poor grade. Most students dont like to take responsibility for not getting a good grade. This professor is not hard or a tough grader. If you spend a bit of time to study and go over your lecture notes you will get a good grade in the class. Hes also hilarious!

Be early, take good notes, do every quiz, and you'll pass. He isn't hard. 5 years of not being in school and I passed. By mid year, I was only skimming over the required reading, and getting high B's on the OPEN BOOK online quizzes..... He gives surprise incentives to getting to class early every day. Lecture material isn't on the online quizzes.

Take him if you want to fail... no point of reading the book, he makes up his own exam and goes based off of what he thinks political science is. No point of doing HW doesnt even help with your grade. this is one of those class no matter how hard you try and study youll fail. Find a different professor! Run while you can

Attendance isn't necessarily required but he takes attendance before and after class. He also marks you down points in class or will just tell you to get out of his class in front of everyone... He's pretty rude, definitely not one you feel welcomed and comfortable with. 4 midterms that are confusing. But take home quizzes that help your grade.

Dont do it! Wasted 200$ on books, did so many online hw, showed up took notes and still didnt pass. Hes a tough grader, goes off topic a lot, doesnt make sense most of the time.

Such a wonderful teacher, probably one of the best at FCC. Works hard at what he does and really does care about his students. You definitely get the best education for what you pay with this guy, really makes an otherwise boring subject palatable, understandable and even interesting.

I remember reading all of these super negative reviews before taking him and being terrified of his class, BUT he is amazing. Super funny, willing to answer questions you have, and and the tests are not that bad. He does require 3 books but I only read the main one and took great notes and have received A's on all the tests. Just put in the effort.

You basically have to crack a code before you can figure out how to prepare for tests, and until you figure it out you will never know what to actually study for. The online homework often has nothing to do with what we're actually being tested on, so it's mostly useless. Going to ETC therefore mandatory if you want to pass. Steer clear of Joseph.

He's super funny but also super rude if you don't word your questions properly. His class is extremely extremely difficult, he's definitely under the impression that his class is the only class you are taking. We took pop quizzes almost everyday, and tests every week. If you like a challenge than this class is for you!

This professor was the absolute hardest teacher I have ever had for any class ever! Requires 3 textbooks all at $200+ and requires sooooo much reading from each a week. Tests do not have any form of study guide so it is a gamble on what you needed to study for the tests. Mostly short answer and essay questions on the exams. Boasts about tenure.

There are quite a few harshly inaccurately negative reviews on here. He does require 3 book but I have managed an A only reading the Pearson material +meticulous notes. He constantly makes jokes everyone laughs @ except the most determined uptight squares. The class IS difficult because he is passionately giving a UC level education at a CC price.

He knows his stuff when it comes to political science, but he's so focused on trivial details that he loses sight of the bigger picture. He tries to do things in his own "special and unique" way, which is actually just makes things more complicated than it needs to be. Frankly, I think he's an idiot who happens to be good at memorizing information.

His lectures are good and he knows what he's talking about (And he's politically unbiased, which is amazing considering how other teachers are), but the questions he gives out on quizzes and tests are so pedantic and often obscure, it's like he assumes you have no life outside of his class. He wants you to buy 3 books, each at $200. I'd avoid him.
