Dr. Romig is absolutely great! He makes everything in theory I easy to understand and is quick to help if we have any problems. You can tell he cares about our futures in music and that he wants us to succeed in his class.

Comment:

I have Dr. Romig for three classes. His classes are deceivingly hard to pass with an A, since he hardly ever tests you or gives you assignments. He is too focused on being cool than he is on making sure his students succeed. If you're like me, and are interested in being a more neo-tonal composer, you need to look elsewhere for your education.

Dr. Romig is brilliant and always gets his point across. He will pause a lecture if he feels someone doesn't fully grasp the idea, and work with the class on it. I went into theory with basically zero knowledge, and still managed to get out with a B. You have to try, though. When he says memorize, you memorize. And treats for quizzes.

What you get from this class is exactly what you put into this class. He will not put up with crap from students who are late or missing assignments/classes. Otherwise, he is a fantastic professor that you will learn much from, without trouble.

Took music theory I and aural skills I with him last semester, and he is amazing to work with! He's really chill, always keeps class interesting, and I learned a lot. I wish I could take it again just so I could have him. I had to work hard in aural skills with him, but he is very helpful.

As others have said, he is cool as a cucumber and always patient, even if we ask the same thing 100 times in a row. He never makes anyone feel dumb for asking a question, and sometime brings in cookies even though he usually eats half of them himself. I totally recommend taking a class or two from this talented teacher. Mr. Romig actually cares.

Very relaxed and easy-going. I've never seen him get angry, just a funny look in his eye. He loves to explain things in different ways, and it's usually funny. He's a tough grader, but it's because he wants you to learn the matieral.

GREAT TEACHER! I love the crazy metaphores! I agree that he never makes us feel stupid for asking questions. sometimes we ask about things that we should probably already know, but he never makes us feel dumb. a lot of professors show how annoyed they are a little too often. i wish our class wouldn't take advantage of how layed back he is, though.

this guy is the best because he's the only theory teacher here who is RELAXED. every one else is too uptight to teach you anything. he's not into himself the way the other theory guys are. he even is willing to answer your questions as if you aren't a complete idiot. what a concept!!!!!!!!
