Very lecture heavy! The review sheets are basically the exams! Go to class because hell sometimes give you hints towards specific extended response questions. There is a lot of reading, but you can be by with doing little to none as long as you pay attention in class, and go every time, and review the powerpoints before exams!

Professor Summerford is my favorite professor at OUL! Attendance is not mandatory but I would suggest going to class because he has a really interesting perspective and it will definitely help on the exams. You should definitely go to the exam review days!! He lays out exactly which concepts are expected

Philosophy is definitely a different course. Some of the material is hard to understand, but James is very good at applying certain philosophical views into more modern examples which is very helpful. Overall great professor and review sheets are extremely helpful if you take the time to fill them out.

Excellent class - I took his business ethics class on Saturday mornings at 8AM, and I actually looked forward to it! I learned a TON, and I so enjoyed the material and Dr. Summerford's presentation. Highly recommend!

Profoundly changed the way I view the world. I have been out of college for years and his classes are the the things I go back and reflect on. The format of the class allowed me to listen and participate with out worrying about missing information for a test. You will get much more than a grade out of his classes.

Dr. Summerford is a hilarious guy! Loved his class! He's very down to earth but sometimes he uses complex language, but he'll always explain if you don't understand. Attendance isn't mandatory, but helpful. All lectures, I never cracked the book open once. Great professor! Great guy!

Awesome Professor. He is super interesting and his class is extremely easy. I got an A and didn't buy the book, if that says anything. He is also extremely witty and mildly sarcastic so if you don't like that type of personality don't take his class. But personally, I would recommend him to anyone.
