Extremely tough grader. If you're not paying attention in class, he might yell, and it will be the most terrifying thing you ever experience. Fortunately, he's also very understanding and willing to help as long as you come forth and ask for it. It's entirely possible to fail this class, so DO ask for help.

He knows his subject. However, he's rude, arrogant and not good at teaching. This class was mandatory for my minor and I had absolutely no knowledge of programming. It was very demanding for me and unfortunately, he wasn't there to provide help or feedback. The only reason why I can code now is because the TA and lab assistant helped me...

I graduated a few years ago and am now a software developer. The material that J Lewis teaches is pretty pathetic. There was very little theory behind any of the course work, and the exercises weren't interesting. He can be very nice, but he clearly doesn't know anything about his teaching subjects: programming, typography and portfolio.

Teacher knows how to teach, however is very arrogant and rude. I didn't appreciate how he says he is there to help but cancels office hours quite often. When you see him in his office its like your disturbing him.

My favorite teacher so far -just what I needed to start learning programming. He gives you a lot of exercises that help you understand the topic and he does care about what students think. Sometimes can be a bit disorganized, but he deals with it with a great sense of humor. Very chill guy

He knows his material and cares about the students. Helps students and answers questions. A very good teacher, very demanding; learn your stuff, you might get something out of it! Teaches CART 355B next year!

Jason is a great teacher and extremely helpful but he can hard-headed at (many) times. Very disciplined and requires a lot of work (but you'll get something out of it).
