Online class thats easy to understand and pass given you actually do the hw. Only problems I had were the last three sections with se, conoce, understanding the difference between ser/esta, and the final exam.

I took Spanish 102 online. It was pretty easy work. Tests and final exam were online as well. I did have an issue with the program at one point, but I emailed him with proof that I did the assignment. He responded promptly and gave me credit for the assignment. If you need to take a language, take it online with Cowan. Easy A

Super easy grader in all classes he teaches. I have done the bare minimum and his classes and still pass with at least a B. If you fail any of his classes it is your own fault.

This was the WORST online class I have ever taken. We literally just did stuff from worksheets that took forever bc if you got something wrong the program would make you do it Over. NO feedback, didnt learn, frustration on 10, never any conversations or explanation, deadlines were unrealistic, so disappointing. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!

He hasn't taken attendance for most of the semester. He's not prepared for classwork, he'll pick pages from our book to do during class and sits at the computer until we're done. He grades the tests right on the spot. He gave me someone else's test and gave it a C+ When I returned the test he gave me a B+ with some of the same "incorrect" answers.

Dr. Cowan was not helpful and not specific about much of the class. I was left wondering what was expected of me in many situations. Don't know what he was like in person, but when I went to talk to him on campus he was never there. Would not recommend.

It took a while to get used to the course, I am honestly not doing so well (i think, considering our grades change online every now and then) and I don't really find that to be my fault. things that you would normally get a "classwork" grade for (like a checkmark or something like that) has a number grade on it because of the site he uses.

I took the online Latin Amer. History class. The professor barely responded to student posts and was very unclear as to when assignments were due. No grades were posted unless you sent an email requesting them. It was the worst online experience I have had.

Nice professor but this class was unorganized and all over the place. Constantly had problems the entire semester but he told us all that if we wanted to take 102 it was going to be set up differently next semester.

Extremely disappointed in professor. Unclear and inconsistent with his class updates, I didn't see my grades all term, and when asked a question, he responded rudely and disrespectfully. I do not recommend him at all. Course itself is only easy if you are good with Spanish, since he was no help, and if you know how to work an online course.

Dr. Cowan did not give any updates on our grades throughout the entire summer and was reluctant to answer questions. Luckily, it was online so it was easy to get help. Homework every night that takes about 20-40 minutes. A test once every week or so which took about 2 hours. Not a horrible class altogehter, definitely could have been better though.

If not for my previous 7 years of Spanish I would never have passed. Material was glossed over, lots of time was wasted, tests were either identical to homework or completely out of nowhere, no in between. He always looked a hot mess and embarrassed students. The one positive thing about him is his leniency with homework and make up tests.

Worst teacher I have ever had. Doesn't call you by your name nor does he have any interest in knowing your name. He doesn't pay attention to when your saying answers out loud and just says "next". Our home works are all online which I doubt he even corrects, most likely just sees that you did it on time. Would not recommend to anyone

Horrible teacher. Took it online, he was no help at all. He threw us into it the textbook was no help, didnt teach anything just defined a few words. Pathetic. I would never recommend him.

Comment:

We used the textbook for every class, so you have to get it. Nice teacher. Always prepared. The only thing I didn't like was that he said early in the semester that there was an optional essay due at the end of the semester based on a movie watched in class. Well towards the end of the semester he says its not optional, it has to be done. You will have to work in pairs for the class work and you will have to speak aloud. He gives you a chance to make up quizzes/tests if you don't get an A.
