Comment:

I took her class online. A very big mistake of mine. She is unorganized, and hard to get hold of. She gave out a general guide line of what the chapter about but not a specific guideline for what to prepare for the test. If you want to get an A you must understand the subject and take a super good note. Not recommended to take the class at all.

Comment:

Frequent changes to deadlines without warning. No instruction provided -- class is devoid of slides, lectures, commentary on work, etc. Took weeks to respond to questions and emails. I am a senior psyc major with a 3.7 GPA, and only received a B despite a disproportionate amount of studying put into this class. Avoid at all costs.

For an online course Raniseski is extremely hard to get a hold of. She takes weeks to respond to questions and problems. If you're looking for a class with a hands-off professor/ teach yourself this might be your best bet. If you're teaching an online course you should respond to your students. Otherwise, I would NOT recommend taking her.

The assignment sheet with the paper requirements & the rubric used to grade our paper were not the same. As a result 15 points were taken off of my paper because it was 'late' & 5 were taken off because it was 'too long' even though they were correct according the original assignment sheet. Luckily I already had an A with the 76 I got on my paper.

This class was the best! I took it online during the summer, and it was stressful at times because you MUST MUST MUST read every chapter. The tests aren't bad if you read and pay attention and she gave curves on all 3 of them. The paper sucked, but she's very understanding and seems to have graded fair.. Easy A for a senior class and awesome online

i just took her online and the class for summer is easy if you have time to read each chapter!I did not know how much you need to pay attention to detail in the chapters because that are where her 3 exams comes from! Writing a 10-20 page paper is not that bad! if you have time to read and pay close attention to detail you should get an easy grade!

I took this course online and really enjoyed it. It was ALOT of reading because the tests are from the book and very specific and timed. However, the material is really interesting. There is also a LONG paper to write (17-20pgs) but you have most of the semester to work on it. This professor is a fair grader and gives extra credit.

Took online course. Professor is responds to emails and inquiries. Cares about the student learning the work. The Text is a easy read and easy to understand. Syllabus is clear and the course is laid out well. Great professor. I recommend her class Highly. One 15 page paper, 3 exams, plus opportunity for extra credit. And thought provoking discus.

You must take this class! 3 test which she pulls the questions from the book...however reading over the chapters is a must because the test are 90 minutes and it flies by. One 15 page paper, TA did grade hard. Sona extra credit is allowed and she gives extra credit on the test. Very responsive and uses webct.

You should totally take this class! Professor is easy going and has great communication with the class. She gives tons of notes for you to refer to during exams. Three test and a paper. Taking this class is a no brainer.

Absolutely take the online version of this class with Raniseski. There are 3 tests (I just the read the chapters a few days before the tests and made A's on all 3). There is a 12-15 page paper but she tells you everything she wants in it. So just do the research and give yourself time to work on it (it took me about 2 weeks). I made an A.

Took the online abnormal psych class. Helpful teacher, but the online tests are killers. Use the lecture notes to help you determine what's important, but definitely read the book. Easy paper, bonus points, easy participation grade.
