Really, really nice guy. Most of what you learn is through the extensive reading you will have to do. However, if you read and do the practice quizzes and use the study questions, you will do just fine. No homework assignments are ever due, just the reading. The tests are somewhat challenging. Overall, you really need to be self motivated.

His tests are based off of the online textbook and his lectures. They are 80 questions. However, the questions are often related to things that weren't heavily discussed in class or in the book. Most of his lectures don't pertain to the test. No assignments besides the tests. It's basically an online course that you teach yourself.

85% of your grade relies on 3 long and difficult tests. Do poorly on one & you're not going to get a good grade. No assignments at all, just a TON of reading. No structure to class lectures, doesn't really relate to the reading/what you're tested on. Pretty much have to teach yourself through the reading & memorize everything. Nice guy, though.

HARDEST class I've ever taken in college. I had to withdraw because the tests were so hard and the amount of information was too much. If you don't have a good memory then don't take this. The whole way to pass is by memorizing everything! Tests are 80 questions and theres like 5! Its pretty much you're whole grade. You have to read so much as well

Test rely heavy on videos in class and reading ranges from 1 to 3 sections a week from his own online book. That does make it free, which is nice, but tests are hard.

He is a good teacher, had some health problems so watch out for missed classes. He was helpful and had a ton of reading. Make sure you read everything he says to. He says read one section each day. I am not a PSY major and am used to reading a ton.

Reading is of the utmost importance, it is the key to your success in his class. He is very fair, and continuously work with his students throughout the course. Attendance is important for his lectures. Being lazy is not an option, you must take time to read the chapters. Excellent professor in the way of lectures, student interest and helpful.

This is probably one of the worst classes I have ever taken. I took psychology in high school but that credit didn't transfer so I needed to take it again. The class I took in high school was much more organized and I actually learned a lot. This class is not structured in anyway, the tests are extremely hard even when you study. A waste of my time

I have had a couple issues with this professor, the main one being that he has cancelled class 3 times now. The lectures are not helpful for tests, you have to have to have to read the textbook. He is goofy and eccentric. Nice guy but prepare for lots of at home studying. He did write his own textbook, so its free.

Extremely hard professor. Tests are super hard. The entire class is based on reading the book and taking tests. Does not prepare you for tests at all. Would not recommend him to anyone.

Funny guy. But, his test are super hard. I did his study question over and over plus reread chapters and still had trouble with them. He also does not teach what a psy101 class "should" teach. Taking again next semester, even though i passed, just so I can actually learn something.

It is a pretty easy class if you just read the book and go to class. Some of the material is covered in class, but a lot test questions are book based.

Because of this class, i'm going to be taking many more psy classes. He explained things very clearly and encourages students to ask questions. He has an online textbook, so no need to buy one, and he wrote it himself so everything you need to know is online. I would suggest not taking it too early in the morning, because it is a lecture class.

This class did not interest me, and he doesn't cover everything in lecture so you are required to read the online text book he wrote himself. his lectures were all over the place and unorganized. However, the grading scale is lenient and He is a very smart guy, if you are interested in psyc as a major, take him.
