Comment:
The Professor seems to fail to notice that the students have more than one course to take per semester. Professor Si is really good at explaining ML theories, very solid content and is reachable after class. But she thinks that you should dedicate 60% of your study time to this course. 2 tests, multiple projects and assignments, A LOT OF DUE DAYS.

Comment:
Si teaches all her classes toward incoming freshman. The class was taught at such a slow pace it became confusing and more difficult. Our section was always 3 weeks behind other professors and we had to cram at the end. The tests are significantly harder than anything given in lecture though, so go over your homework!

Comment:
The examples in class are the same examples found in the book, therefore the lectures are not that helpful. I got an A by just redoing the HW and understanding every concept without checking the answers or anything. This class feels like a math class, so be prepared to try to treat it as a math class and understand the formulas/transform tables etc

Dr. Si is a very nice professor, and will always answer questions inside and outside of class. She always responded to my emails, and told me give her a call to discuss class material if I ever needed help but couldn't arrange a time to meet in her office. Her lectures only cover the fundamentals, so reading the book is a must to past. Hard tests.

I'm never taking a class with her again. The lectures were painfully slow and useless. A good professor could condense everything she taught into three or four lectures, so as a result you'll have to use the textbook to cover areas she ran out of time to cover. That said, she is very nice and offer help if you ask for it.

Not a useful class, just a review of topics no detail. bunch of projects as well as exam. you can handle the class due to lots of project and exam. She thinks you should dedicate your whole time for this class and finally bad grading.

Her tests were not bad but you have to really understand the material because she'll ask(especially on the final) questions that merge several principles. It is true that she gives homework that has quite a bit of stuff you need to look up how to do in the book but you'll do good on tests I believe with just her material. She's a good choice.

She teaches what you need to know to do the homework the day before it is due. She doesnt go in depth into the material in class, which makes the homeworkunderstanding difficult. She gave VERY LITTLE info for what you needed to study for exams, absolutely no study material. She had no interest in making sure the students do well. Avoid her.

Terrible, homework, exams, lectures are almost not related, you can never know what will be covered in the exams, the "review" is what she took out her phone and read some random words, if you have the past exam paper you may at least know what kinds of tests she may give, otherwise, don't trust the lecture she gives, learn the book all by yourself

Dr. Si is a great teacher. She will go as slow as needed to make sure just about everyone gets the material. However, it can be a little repetitive at times. Regardless, she cares about her students' success and it shows.

Professor Si is very helpful and really drills the basic concepts at the beginning so you don't get confused later. It will feel really easy for a while, but it picks up quick. Just keep up and do the homework, and you should be able to get an A. If you're confused, go to office hours. She is very approachable.

It was a project based class: there were really only 2 major projects throughout the semester and the consequent presentations and reports constituted the majority of the grade. She could've been clearer about the specifics of the assignment, but she was very positive about everything and made the class interesting.

This class is helpful mainly for people in signal processing. Not a great professor. Classes are not very informative. Bad prof if you want to learn the subject well. No exams, only projects. Easy to get an A.

She made the subject seem easy and algebraic! Gives lots of credit! takes time for every student to understand in class so ask questions often in class! You can easily make mistakes on her exams though. Take the time to stop by her office hours

She is extremely enthusiastic in class and tries to explain stuff clearly but sometimes she skips steps that are crucial to understanding the material. Tests are way different than HW.HW is usally one lecture ahead of what she's teaching. No curve no matter what the average.

She cares very much for the class progress. She spends the extra time and effort when majority of the students is struggling. The material is tough. She gives you lots of examples, but you must be able to follow up and repeat on your own. Staying up with the class is a must. One big plus is she may give the make up test if the class struggles.

If you want to learn something take another proffesor, if you want to waste your time then take it with jennie. The true is that the class is a joke, and the sad part is that almost everyone gets a perfect grade, in a way it sucks because you do your work, but everyone get the same grade, the proble is the grader. He or she gives perfect grades to
