Jenny is pretty nice, but she's really boring and likes to call on people to ask questions about things she's not even teaching about/hasn't taught about yet. Also, go to class, 1) because you can't miss more than 4 classes without dropping a letter grade and 2) because she hands out 90 papers per class and if you don't get those papers, sux 4 u

I took her Political Life and Issues class and she is a fantastic teacher but you have to attend class because she gives out 20 handouts per class and they are very helpful but you need to read and listen. In class activities are a must and are very easy, as are the test as long as you study the handouts.

My first (online) class at Sinclair, she was a great teacher. Easy discussions, good directions. Test were hard!! Class average for tests was a D, but I studied and got B's. Very straight-forward. Would take again

Comment:

Great professor, takes a while to figure out what she wants, but speaking to her about projects and tests really helped. Studying for tests is essential, and she has a custom curriculum to fit the lessons and tests together. She is very passionate about her work and is great at teaching it. This is a class you have to work hard in to succeed.

Professor Sooy is passionate about what the topic. She is also understanding about outside of school circumstances that could occur. There is only one test so it is important to study hard for it. Don't even bother buying the book.

Took her for my first year PSEO... Not a good idea. She's helpful enough, but she's not an easy teacher. She's super passionate, which can be good or bad depending on how you learn and how comfortable you are with the topic. I had next to no prior knowledge with the subject, so it was confusing. She'll help you out, but you have to work hard.

I've had over a dozen profs and she was hands down the worst out of all of them here at Sinclair. Is rumoured to put good reviews of herself on here. I'm not surprised. Needs to go to teacher school again. Her tests are unreasonable...the workload is unfathomable for a 100-level class...She doesn't care about her students. At all. /:

Excellent teacher! Very passionate & knowledgable. If you took her sister (Kathy), taking her class is almost exactly the same, they are almost identical twins too. Has real world political experience which is super interesting. So nice and very helpful, and accommodating if something comes up!

I took this course online. I had five discussions, a midterm and final exam. A lot of stress is on the midterm and final. Mainly study the online material for the exams. Great class if u u don't like a lot of homework.

Ugh, I can't stand government - not a good thing for a History major, I know. LOL But Professor Sooy's online class was fabulous! Light work load, decent exams. Not easy, but not killers, either. This professor LOVES her subject and it is just an absolute joy to learn about our Federal Government from her. If you get the chance, take her class!

GREAT teacher to have if you are doing it online. Only five discussions, a mid-term, and a final. By no means is she an easy teacher, you'll actually have to learn the material! If you do the reading & all the work you will be fine! She's always quick to respond if you have questions too.
