This guy acts like hes the center of the universe and only really talks about himself and thats about it. Kind of petty when it comes to attendance and if you have to leave early expect some sort of remark lol seriously I left when 9:15 when class should end he made a sarcastic remake. Super boring as well only talks about planting trees.

Mr. Hamby is such a caring instructor. Any time I had a question I emailed him about it and he was always very patient and replied quickly. As long as you do your work (in-depth and not halfway) you'll be fine.

He is a professor unlike any other. SO passionate about what he teaches and if you pay attention, your writing and thinking skills will reach a level that you never thought was even possible. I would not have my writing tutor job without his guidance in abstract writing and critical thinking. I took his honors class and I do not regret it one bit.

Professor Hamby is passionate about his work. His lectures are great because you can tell he cares about your thoughts and inputs. Get ready to make a blog and that is the easy part. He is a very tough grader so be ready to write really good essays. I made all B's in every essay and the only reason I made a A-was because of the extra credit I did.

This course was stressful! A week into the semester and I wanted to drop it. I would not take this class online. A lot of reading! Midterm and Final is extremely difficult. The only extra credit is planting trees in Houston. He is a very tough grader, you must earn your grade.

Awful, no sympathy or compassion whatsoever!! I had came across a life altering hardship and he did not care. Black heart!!! If you care about your gpa/education don't take him.. Only person Mr. Hamby cares about is Mr. Hamby!!!!

I was extremely mislead by other reviews. he is not great instructor in my opinion, I had him for English 1302. he spends most lectures talking about world issues. very harsh grader and doesn't go over much material. makes very deprecating jokes towards me due to my age. only pro of this class was that an extra credit offer was gardening

Hamby is awesome! I loved being a part of his class. If you want to get the most out of the class, interact in the class discussions. He has plenty of extra credit opportunities. Overall, a fun and energetic class!

One of the most caring and compassionate instructors I've ever encountered. Apply yourself, and you will succeed. Participation and attendance are key. He is aware his are required courses, so for a little perseverance , you'll be gifted a crash course in culture. Art, film, theatre, music. Take his classes, respect his intellect, and enjoy.

Mr. Hamby has been one of my favorite professors at Lee. He enjoys talking to the class before lectures and goes over papers/exams thoroughly. Get prepared to do a lot of writing, but he assigns interesting topics.

This course completely stressed me out, but growth is usually painful. Mr. Hamby's enthusiasm for the material is undeniable. If you share that enthusiasm and can write well, you will excel in this class. The course was well-organized and moved at a deliberate pace. I definitely recommend him.

Professor Hamby is one of those gems found along life's pathway with expectations clearly defined within the course's syllabus. He is more than eager to help anyone with questions or concerns and helps all to succeed. This is not a course for those wanting an easy walk and will require the consistent use of one's gray matter.

Professor Hamby is that dream Instructor that you take that instills within the student the drive to do more and better. EVERYTHING is spelled out in his syllabus and grading rubric. If a student in aiming for an A, it will not be given; however, it may be earned. He has detailed everything concisely in his questions; be on pointe in responding.

Hamby was my favorite teacher this semester. He is very clear and gives lots of handouts and reminders of due dates. He is very good with answering questions too! He's all around an amazing teacher. I am so happy to have taken his class.

Excellent teacher! Passionate about his work and students success. Shared personal stories and gave great examples of work to be done. Challenges students to be their best. Always answers questions completely and responds to emails quick. Easy to talk to interesting writing concepts. Work is challenging but with his help it is doable.
