Mme Bénard is an excellent professor who is extremely knowledgeable in her field and genuinely wants all of her students to succeed. She's very kind and easy to talk to, and you will learn a lot in her classes. She is always available for discussion outside of class and marks fairly.

I took this class cause it was the only one that fit my schedule, but I was really just thinking 'not another grammar course'. But this prof pleasantly surprised me. She's very friendly and approachable, and willing to admit when there may be more than one possible answer. And she covered material I've never really seen in a french course

One of the friendliest, most approachable professors you will meet at Queen's, Mme Benard belongs to the rare breed of those who sincerely want you to succeed. She will push you, challenge you to think analytically about readings, and expect the best from your writing, but she does not hesitate to answer questions or go the extra mile.

She speaks very fast and thus some concepts fly by and much of the class is still unsure what was taught. Very friendly but her english comprehension could be a bit better. Thus it seems if you can't figure a way to ask your questions in French then you might as well just not ask them. However very flexible with due dates.
