This class was something I thought would be a fun art elective. I was wrong. Professor Eden thought of his British humor to make fun of students as a sick game. His course is not graded based on effort at all, he is grading you based on his professional expertise and I'm definetely not an art professional

Awful! He singles students out and talks down to them. The grades posted on the wall have nothing to do with your final grade. If he has singled you out (even if you spend hours out of class time working on your pieces) you will not do well in the class. I'm all for constructive critism but what he does is belittle particular students.

EASILY the most gregarious, easy going, and personable professor that I have had at the University. Criticism over your work is done in joking manner, so joke back with him, best thing you can do! Very lack, and chill class! Eden is willing to help you out if you need it. GREAT PROFESSOR, and you'll learn quite a bit!!

I don't know how anyone couldn't like John. He is easily one of the most chill professors I've ever had. Follow the instructions of the posted assignments and you'll get an A, if you ask he will tell you if you are doing it wrong, possibly kinda harshly, but don't take it to heart and just make the fixes. He's really friendly and talkative.

I was honestly a little scared to take this course after reading the comments about him on here, but I LOVED the class! John is an awesome teacher, really helpful and funny, He's british and a riot when you don't take him so seriously and just joke around with him

He is a big bully and acts like a spoiled child. Do not take this class. The university should fire him, and find someone more in tune with students, its disgusting that they allow him to remain when people do nothing but complain about him. He will verbally abuse , belittle you, make you cry all to satisfy his own raging ego.

John is a competent professor, if you show up and keep your head down you can have fun. However, the problem with his class is his total, utter disdain for anyone else. If you email him, he won't even read it: if you somehow make a mistake, he makes it out to be a personal failing. There's better ways to take art than having to deal with this guy.

this guy is the worst. he made me cry on three seperate occasions. if you are an art major, no matter how much sincere effort you put in, he'll tear you down if you don't perform perfectly. I spent nearly 15 hours a week out of class working on assignments, and i ended up with a C. Don't risk it, the guy is a totally unreasonable jerk.

He is not as bad as everybody makes him sound. If you have ever been to Britain or watched British comedy and enjoyed the humor there this is what you get. Give the guy a break!! And by the way-I was not one of his "favorites".

Pretty much the biggest prick I have ever met. Contstantly putting you and your pieces down. Throws tantrums if something isn't done right, even though he never explains himself throughly. Has his favorites, and you know when your not one of them. Don't take this class.

awful, just awful. WHY WHY WHY do they allow him to continue teaching here? Does the art department not care that he is rude and makes his students feel like****on the bottom of his shoe? This man is so degrading I just hope someone reports him for harrassment.

He had very open syllabi at the beginning of assignments, but by the end of it he wouldn't accept or enjoy anything any of the students made, apparently deciding halfway through that he didn't like the original assignment. Very unfair and unhelpful if you were ever having a problem. Bad bad bad.

I thought he was a pretty nice guy. Yes, he likes to tease, but I never had any issues with him, and I don't think anyone else in my class did either. He tries to push your skills to the limit, but that's what a teacher should do.

unenthusiastic, unhelpful, negative, over-critical, and rude to all of his students. easily the worst professor i've ever had. even the most talented, hardworking students didn't get praise, acceptance, or a grade higher than a low B. he shouldnt be teaching. especially not a level 1 class.

he knows his stuff, but is really harsh and unreasonable. He'll embarass you in class if you ask him a question. he won't accept any mistakes even if it's an entry level class and your first time working with clay. he doesn't care about the feelings of his students, and isn't open to creativity.
