Excellent professor. Lectures are very detailed, but clear and easy to follow. Extensive office hours, and review sessions for homework and midterms attest to Prof. Meeks' dedication to students' education.

Lectures were boring and difficult to follow. And the fact class was at 8am further discouraged me from going to class. His lecture slides=useless. Our awesome TA posted his own notes on the lecture which was the only reason I passed. We had Mann for lab, and he seemed like the most fascinating person. Only take MIC 101 when Mann is teaching!

He is not a good teacher. It is as simple as that. He doesn't explain things well in class and when you ask questions he just repeats what he just said. His tests are unfair and that's being nice. Usually this class is taught by Mann and is spoken very highly of, but Meeks managed to ruin it for me. Do not take MIC 101 if he is teaching it!

Ridiculous! Utterly incoherent and extremely rude. Told a student off in front of the entire class for asking silly questions in office hours. Follow instructions on the homework to the letter and ask questions about it! Worst thing about the class - final exam had 7 errors (at least). Obviously doesn't care about the class. Complete disappointment

He uses the board and his hand writing is really messy. He's a nice man but the material is very confusing. The class is very hard! Make sure to study. Book is useless. He's also more approachable than Dr. Singer. Generous curve.

Meeks is friendly but hard to understand and follow. His lectures are all over the place its impossible to tell when he switches topics. (he kinda mumbles too). The tests are difficult. The HW is confusing. The book is useless. I recommend office hours and studying in a group.

get the practice exams and practice final from a friend and you will do very well on the tests. He does not give you any practice exams because he reuses questions. make sure you still understand the ATP calculations from the biochemical pathways and how to calculate the generation time of bacteria. Collaborate on your hw and youll do fine.

He's like an evil santa! He is very nice and easy to approach but his exams are really hard...his lectures are confusing and he doesn't use the textbook so there isn't anything to fall back on...he loves calculations, which he really doesn't go over in class...go over bis103 cycles for the first exam...

Avoid this class like the plague! Lectures will put you to sleep and although the midterm and possibly the final are take home they are almost impossible and the questions are way beyond the scope of the class. His lectures make no sense and he will frustrate you beyond belief with his circular arguements in O.H.

He's not that hard, but he's not easy. Midterm questions reappear frequently on final.

TERRIBLE teacher. Incoherent lectures, disorganized diagrams, impossible tests. The other prof in the course had to correct him front of the class! Once said that he doesn't care what students wrote on his evaluations. Too busy researching do teach well, and it shows. Avoid at all costs.
