Prof. Teehan is probably the hardest grader I've seen during all my academic years. He gives off the impression that he's laid back and that if you do the work in a good manner yall be fine. WRONG. I received only B+ or higher during all my other years of school on papers. This man will give you a D on a B worthy paper I kid you not.

The reading isn't bad at all. The readings are there to help you form your ethical arguments. His lectures aren't boring and voicing your opinion and participation will definitely help your grade. He's pretty open to talk to and overall the class was easy-fair.

Would never take again. I switched out of a different course because this one fit my schedule more. He made it seem as if it was such an easy class, but he makes it more difficult than it needs to be . Not a good professor at all

He is absolutely terrible. He has a very creepy gaze so it's hard to really pay attention, he gets personally offended easily, he only encourages participation if you agree with what he is saying. Extremely harsh grader as well. I have never received below a C on a paper until I took this useless class. Half the class withdrew, and I wish I had too

Professor Teehan is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is always willing to help if you ask for it. His lectures are interesting. He usually covers everything you were supposed to read in the lectures so you don't have to do the reading if you don't want to, just be prepared to pull some quotes out of the reading for the essays.

Teehan would present the material in class fairly well. I would write my papers, and follow the prompt, then get comments back saying I didn't follow the prompt. Not only were these comments unhelpful, they were rude. He made veiled attacks on my intelligence and character. I would not suggest taking a class with this professor.

By far one of my worst professors. He literally talks all class about nonsense that does not relate to anything we would be tested on. Very confusing and his essay prompts suck. Got a C- because of the professor and I am an A student

Very bad grading style. He is completely inconsistent with the way he grades and his essay prompts do not really explain what to write about. Hes a nice guy but just isnt the most interesting teacher ever.

Teehan is an okay professor. He grades essays pretty hard but focuses more on ideas than grammar and form. His exams are hard but he gives a review sheet that is helpful. Present innovative ideas in class and try not to argue with him too much, if he likes you and knows you you'll do well. Go to his office hours and get to know him.

John Teehan is by far one of the worst professors I have ever had. His corrections on essays are not constructive nor are they helpful in any way. He is extremely boring in class and cannot stand when other students have something to say. Teehan is absorbed in himself and should not be teaching. For your own sanity...do not take this class!!!

Professor Teehan, is great. He is extremly knowledgeable and knows what he is talking about. I do believe he includes the students in discussions and will go over things again and again to insure the students understanding, i honestly would recommend him. There is a good amount of work he expects but you will learn a lot!

Does not follow a clear grading policy. Prefers to simply lecture and detailed notes do not provide accurate information for final/midterm exams. Agree with his opinions if you plan on doing well in the class. Take him if you must, not if you have a choice.

Comment:

Professor Teehan's best strength is he knows what the hell he's talking about. His clear but lengthy amount of notes should help on the difficult final. A few essays and lots of reading and other small assignments are also among his syllabus. But as long as you do the work and pay attention, you're fine. Great professor.

Teehan is very knowledgeable; however, he teaches at you, rather than trying to include you in the discussion. He is a biased grader and does not follow a straightforward grading policy. If you don't get the same message/understanding from the reading that he did, you will not get a good grade.

Professor Teehan is strict, buy you really learn a lot in his class. He is very clear on what he wants, and all you have to do is try your best and he will be generous. He is nice inside the classroom, and outside. All you have to do is come to class and do your work. He wants everyone to succeed.

He is a tough teacher but you will learn a lot! I found him extremly helpful and very approachable. All he wants is his students to succeed. If you do your work and show you are trying hard he will be generous. At first he seems scary but he's soooo nice

If you show him that you want to learn and are interested in the material, he's really helpful. He may seem intimidating but once you talk to him he's actually really chill and laid back.
